Fresh and youthful, the sensation is that to grasp a handful of freshly picked raspberries in the forest. Very clean, focused, with a good nerve. — 6 years ago

We had this with a veggie wellington for Xmas day. It was silky smooth, and absolutely bloody delicious. £20 a bottle, for Xmas only! — 4 years ago

Funky stuff. Aromatic but lovely texture — 7 years ago
A very well rounded Chenin that offers plenty of mid-palate and mouthfeel without sacrificing its most pleasurable assets; piercing acid and deep minerality. Nose is citrus driven, melange of grapefruit, orange marmalade, and lemon zest. Blossoms and leaves followed by a touch of redux and funkiness. Extremely inviting. Palate is focused, lime and oro blanco draped over crushed stones and sea salt. Phenolic kick on the back end to soften the acid’s blow. Showing so well today! — 8 years ago
— 9 years ago
Light un-oaked. A nice appetizer wine. — a year ago
Amazing concentration and intensity. Better on day two. Oak is noticeable and could use some more time in bottle. — 2 years ago
I was writing a long and detailed tasting note, but I got distracted and @Delectable Wine deleted your tasting notes when the app refreshes. So suffice it to say that it’s got medium(+) intensity aromas and flavors and the tannins are ripe medium(+) tannins. Smooth and with plenty of complexity to drink and think. #stemiliongrandcru #stemilion #bordeaux #merlot #cabernetfranc — 6 years ago
Drank 7/25/18. Paired with grilled lamb chops and a red wine reduction.
The 2nd wine of Domaine de Chevalier, one of my favorite producers from Pessac-Leognan. Like many of the other wines in the 2012 vintage, it seems to have a bit of a leg up on similar quality wines from the Medoc
Nose of sweet black and purple fruits with wet rock and a little soil. Dark fruits and plums mingle with black cherry and a touch of spice on the palate, that is very well balanced, yet perhaps lacking some of the fruit concentration of the grand vin. Finishes with dark fruits and drying, yet well integrated tannins. A very well made wine that has a silky mouthfeel beckoning you to drink another glass.
