May have aged it too much but it was great an hour in. — 5 years ago
Tasting this after having the zin last night was interesting. Definitely a different style bring on Howell mtn vs. valley floor but made in similar vein. More floral nose and palate is denser and darker with more cocoa. Love tasting small operation Napa zin. — 8 years ago

A dry Zin ....outstanding Howell Mtn. Characteristics — 10 years ago
2007 vintage V. Deep and dark color with aromas of blackberries. Tannins have softened but still prominent. This baby is good for another 10 years. — 3 years ago
You gotta give this bottle some time. After the cork was popped, this one had a pretty funky tart characteristic to it and a metallic kind of character and acidity that was a little off-putting. After 30 minutes, totally different wine. Just ripened black cherry and oregano notes dominate the palate and the entry. Medium bodied wine. Not really all that complex. Nide acidity on the finish..some black pepper and cola. Went much better with Asian StirFry than it did alone. I think I will try to save the other bottle for a couple of years. — 7 years ago

Still got an 04 sitting around,Heidi can make wine. Inky black in the glass with a purple rim. The nose is heavy with smoke, leather, barrel toast, tobacco, bay leaves, and briar berries. The palate is a controlled explosion of crushed black fruits, roasted meats, savory herbs, cigar tobacco, and rich earthy minerals. A mouth drying, lip smacking finish shows how much of a baby this wine is. Come back around 2025. Or drink this now, @Jody Scharf ! — 10 years ago

Wonderful Cab from a favorite vintner. Soft tannins and dark cherry fruit. Thankfully we have 29 more bottles. — 4 years ago

One word. INSANE! I've heard all about Haber from @Shawn R and @Martin G Rivard and I'm more than pleased to say that their recommendations are totally spot on! Tonight was the Taste of Howell Mountain event in Dallas and the line-up was absurd. Aloft, Adamvs, Lamborn, Dunn, Outpost, O'Shaughnessy and many other rock stars. After tasting through many '13s and '14s, the '14 Haber Howell Mountain was the Wine of the night without a doubt. His '13 was great and when he said his '14 was excellent I thought it couldn't surpass it...it most definitely did. Buy this stuff up! The nose is out of this world...smoked meats, caramel, candied almonds. Jackpot! — 9 years ago

Boom. Holds the big fruit well given the 15+ % octane. Delicious. Plum. Cocoa. Oak. Again...boom. — a year ago
