Winery in the Rheingau is now called Kaufmann. Tasted this over the Christmas Holidays in Frankfurt. Beautiful wine, good acidity, hint of lemon, peach, and a soft petrol nose. Urban Kaufmann and partner Eva Rapp have been leaders in redefining Germany's classification system this GG (Grosses Gewachs) is a great start — 6 years ago
The wine opened up quite a bit after decanting for an hour or so. Great tawny color, notes of sour cherry and raisins, long aftertaste. Will integrated tannins. An awesome bottle! — 6 months ago

Still needs to open up a bit. Color fools you. Rich deep color but it’s a medium body at best. Black tea on the finish. — a month ago
