Mezcla tina, or “Red Blend”
Syrah dominant, a helluva barnyard nose!
Heavier bodied, with bits of blueberry and apple skins, some sweet grass, tobacco, aged perfectly, (I got lucky), with the tannins complementing the star fruit acidity.
50% Syrah, 14% Petite Syrah, 26% Garnacha, 10% Petit Verdot.
100% Yum.
This is the first red wine I have had from this area, usually known for Pisco production. — 6 years ago
Cooler climate in style. Light and flavorful. Varietally correct. — 8 years ago
Sticking with the pinot's I have opened the 2013 Tabali Talinay Coastal Limestone Vineyard Pinot Noir from Chile.
On the nose there are beautiful fruit and complex notes of cherry, cranberry, raspberry, floral notes of violet, vanilla, light oak and an earthy component.
On the palate a wonderful notes of cranberry, raspberry, cherry, forest soil and a bit of minerality.
This is a medium bodied wine with medium + acidity and medium fine tannins that leads to a lovely long crisp finish with good fruit right to the end. It just doesn't seem to want to quit and it will carry you right into the next sip. I am totally into this wine and may have to go and purchase a few more bottles. Have a wonderful rest of your week and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 9 years ago
Fantastic. Notes of red berries, vanilla, and dark chocolate. Very smooth and full bodied. Paired very well with rack of lamb. — 5 years ago
Serious and solid barrel Chardonnay. Aroma: ripe apples, vanilla, butter, toast, hay, lightly citrus. Long aftertaste: oak and smoky notes. Soft oak tannins are present.
Very nice. — 5 years ago

Spicy and dry very good. — 7 years ago
Peaches and pears, with some flowers and just a little grapefruit. Nice balance of acidity and fruit. This has some similarities to New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, but less grapefruit and less citrus overall. But still enough acidity. — 8 years ago
Sadly this is the last vintage of Quebrada Seca for De Martino as the vineyard will be rented to someone else. Again, this wine over-deliveries. A beauty showing enormous complexity: ripe melons, sea spray, chalk, wood (not oak), lees. Creaminess balanced by a lingering finish led by acid and saltness. — 9 years ago
Pale lemon; medium intensity aromas of apricot, yellow plum, yellow pear, pineapple, blossom, lilac, sherbet; dry, medium plus acid, medium alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium plus finish, quite ripe and rich, well balanced, delicious — 5 years ago
Lovely with coq au vin — 6 years ago
Saving the best for last from our friend’s personal collection this 💯 % balanced Chilean Syrah exceeds expectations. Big, smooth loaded with black and blueberries, tastes of burnt wooden matches, hints of vanilla, exotic spices finishes with wonderfully long and layered lingering legs. — 6 years ago
Nice Syrah! Violet with slightly orange edge. Very interesting nose, at first it has lots of mature red fruit, then it changed to a very meaty profile, also dried prunes, and violets. Medium acidity and low astringency but good permanency and nice aftertaste. De Martino is without a doubt one of my favorite Chilean producers. — 7 years ago
Some lovely minerality and lemon on the front. Some roundness but not to rich. This is a fantastic Fall white. A lot of barely ripe peach and lemon makes this just bracing enough without being to edgy. Love it — 9 years ago

Deep ruby color.
Aromas of red floral, dark fruit, earth, spice.
Dry. Flavors of cherry, raspberry, vanilla, cinnamon, licorice, floral, hint of herbal on the finish. Medium-rich, velvety tannins. Wow!
