Ca' del Sarto

Barbera d'Alba

I'm not sure what happened to the yellow label with the little dancing guy on it. This is a pleasing sipper, with bright, tart fruit and plenty of acid. One dimensional, but a crowd pleaser and good with pork tenderloin and roasted spaghetti squash.

The back label said the crest is a special Roman symbol for unity or something @Tegan Marriott

Perfect cork.

Fantastic ripe plum notes to the nose and palate. I don't know the exact blending percentages of the grapes, but assume CS is dominant since it's listed first on the back label. But, the Merlot is most prominent at this age and it's singing a beautiful song tonight after 3H in the decanter. Last bottle from release purchase in April 2006, winery direct.

Haven’t seen a Rosenbaum in a long time. A few decades ago, their single vineyard Zins were a go-to for me

@Tom Casagrande Work & Personal life has been incredibly busy the past few months, posting has slipped down the priority list unfortunately. I've still got some of their single vineyard Zinfandel's, with similar age to this post, hiding away in the cellar.

A rich but now well balanced Zin in that ripe style that I’d likely not have been too fond of when it was younger. Bottle coated with sediment and oak is prominent in how it’s resolved with plummy berry vanilla notes. Back label says a field blend of Zin Carignane and Petit Sirah, Alexander Valley vineyard, vines cultivated on St. George rootstock grafted onto a 75 year old clone of Zin. β€” 5 years ago
