Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

A great Cru Artisan producer, this is ready to go at age 9. Well balanced, primary and tertiary flavors emerging, excellent freshness and length. Currants, cassis, a touch of capsicum. Old school Bordeaux! — 3 years ago

Famille Perrin

Peyre Blanche Côtes du Rhône Villages Cairanne Grenache Syrah 2013

The 2013 ‘Cairanne Peyre Blanche’ by Familie Perrin is an excellent effort from a challenging vintage in the Rhone Valley. On the nose this starts off with white pepper, red cherry cordial and wild thyme aromas that impress in the glass. While not hugely complex, the palate is silky smooth, showing a soft mouthfeel. Herbs de Provence, roasted dates, and cran-cherry flavors all collide on the palate. Drinking marvelously now, this will continue to evolve over the next five plus years. @Lucas Wittmann never knew they produced a white. I will say I have not enjoyed the reds post 2000. The '95 & '96 reds were superb.

First time I've seen the white. Agree that the early to mid-90s reds from them were excellent (drank my last a few years back). Disappeared from US market but now they're back and I haven't tried.

Le Démon de Midi

Crazytown wine. Tastes like Irish brown bread, almonds, raisins and other earthy fruits, a little salinity, sweetness up front with a super-dry finish. Think sherry. Fantastic value. — 9 years ago

— 10 years ago
