Definitely lives up to the ciliegia in its name 🍒. Bright cherry, raspberry, with saline and mineral and a little graphite. Light tannins and nice, bright acids. Excellent well made Sangiovese. Dark fruit and a hint of leather on the nose. Pleasant fruit with a hint of aged fruit on the palate. Nice mouth drying high tannins and typical high acidity. A hint of delicious sour sweetness that reminds me of Chateau Musar. Blend: 85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot. 13% abv — 10 years ago

Bright ruby red color with a slight garnet rim. Aromas of red fruit, wild herbs, forest floor and red flowers. Flavors of ripe red cherries and raspberries, figs, roasted nuts, Dutch cocoa and savory spices. Touches of menthol and minerals on the long and lingering (slightly bitter) finish. Full bodied with chewy tannins. Nicely textured and very bright acidity. Dense and complex. Part of a June 2026 KZ Tasting. — 24 days ago
