The word that kept coming to mind was “precision”, as in laser-defined layers and puzzle pieces coming together perfectly, cleanly. Ornung. A range of deep and broad red berries, raspberry most prominent. Still obvious tannins, but again perfectly delineated in the 1 minute finish that just lingered. This is the driest "Slooty" Crozes I have had in a long time. Its makes me feel as if I should slip it a $20 when Im done drinking it, for cab fair... Yet if you brush through the dirtiness. A taut puzzle to start. Better once decanted and given 30-45 minutes to open. Once through that rectification (it was yesterday’s word of the day) this baby was quite the ride. Beautifully fragrant and inviting. Not deeply dark in color but still richly deep purple. The fruit is layered and comes in waves. Dark fruit, blueberries lingering finish. I expected this to be a very good CA Cab. I was wrong this was special. Lots of resonating impulses here. Loved this. It was great. — 2 years ago
