Laughing Bird

South Eastern Chardonnay

So this probably isn’t “exquisite” because the flavor is so simple and crisp … but that’s what I love about it. — 5 years ago

Comm. G.B. Burlotto

Verduno Pelaverga 2021

Delectable Wine
8.9

The 2021 Pelaverga Verduno is classy and elegant to the core. Crushed red berry fruit, sweet floral notes and a kick of citrus are all laced together. Burlotto's silky, polished Pelaverga is about as good as it gets for this quirky variety. Aging in steel helped preserve quite a bit of freshness. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, December 2022)

Domaine de Terrebrune

Bandol Mourvedre Blend 2006

Brilliant, fascinating nose. Almost devoid of fruit, yet so enticing!
Dried rosemary, lavender, fennel, floral. Some dark, creamy black fruit, baked earth, some leather. And continues to evolve in the Glas. Precise, fresh, beautiful!!
On the palate - fresh, polished yet with such depth & character. The quality of the tannins is mind blowing. So polished, so fine yet monumental at the same time. And in this frame - juicy, fresh, floral acidity and just a touch of black fruit. Brilliant, quirky, bordering on profound, and so delicious at the same time. What a wine!!!

Bird in Hand

Nest Egg Cabernet Sauvignon 2003

This was quite a surprise. While not the giant backbone you’d expect from a Cali cab, it had a nice Viscosity on the pallet and a longer finish. The tannins not fully integrated for its age, with a higher acidity level. Drank more like a Bordeaux blend. — 7 years ago
