Forwent the recommend Burgundy glass and took advantage of the twist of cap while sitting in my car outside Safeway. Whole bottle went down smoothly. New world wine that tastes like old world, great tannin and acidity. Slightly salty hints but that could have been the tears of joy running down my face at the idea that such a good wine is affordable and doesn’t require a proper opener. #twistoff — 5 years ago
A nice fine mousse, nose hints at some age though it’s not vintage dated. Good seam of acidity running through it, more fruity than yeasty. I’d buy it again for €12. Certified organic and from estate owned vineyards. — 7 years ago
The freshness

U couldn't name a scent it was in there
Absolutely mind blowing

Medium. Running lean. Good structure. — 8 years ago
No risk-taking tonight.
Starts with forest floor and red berry nose. Some licorice--but I always say that, and greenery/pine. Running a little hot, she's still young and needs to mature, a little. Low acidity, medium purple color, medium plus body, medium tannins. Super solid, not sensational.

First time trying and wow - nicely woven integrated wine but my friend and fellow wine nerd @Shay A says it best so borrowing his comments from 2018 and I quote
“Jarvis winery is one of my all time favorite winery visits in Napa. Their caves are the most impressive I've seen, along with their natural springs running through the tunnels. Their merlot is my favorite out of Napa, and their
Cab Franc is a close second. This is 95% CF, 5% merlot. It balances ripe Napa CF and Loire Valley CF. Streak of green bell pepper down the middle with herbal spice, ripe
blackberry and stemmy dark fruits. There is plum, and spice cake on the finish. This needed an hour+ for the mid palate to beefen up and match the entry and finish”
Bravo and well said Shay - glad I found my patience with this wine bud — 5 years ago
Lovely, well balanced blend that tastes mostly like a cab franc to me from Willamette. Plum and simple spice. Very enjoyable lightly chilled. — 6 years ago

This is up there in my top 5 this year - this is shooting at me 0 to 60 in a Porsche GTO or 3 seconds but finishing like the tortoise against the hare - a winner and in slow motion - but nice and smooth and long - wait now I am confused - am I drinking wine or getting ready for sex / oh wait - never mind - different story - but this is badass is a glass as my friend @Martin G Rivard would say

In the running for favorite wine, neck and neck with Stony Run Riesling. Yum! — 5 years ago
Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.
Theorem was one of our highlights last year, so we made sure a return visit was lined up this year. Base of Diamond Mtn with one of the most beautiful properties I’ve seen. Over the last 12 months, they’ve added a couple new wines (with more to come from Moon Mountain). TRB is the winemaker.
In the running for red wine of the trip. When visiting last year, I preferred the ‘14 (ripe, balanced, savory) over the ‘15 (more acidity, touch lighter, high toned)...this ‘13 takes the best of each and marries them. This is a classic high end TRB Cabernet from a stellar vintage. Truffles raspberries, candied black cherries, cocoa dusted mixed berry pie and graphite aromatics accompanied by sweet blueberries, freshly squeezed blackberries, toffee and espresso, baking spices, and fine grained tannins. Built like a tank. Superb. — 6 years ago
Night 1 of the Fall WNH event in San Antonio. What a killer start to the extended weekend, all courtesy to Shawn and Jennifer for hosting! Tonight was Italian wines.
Another in the running for WOTN. Maple and rich! Cherry and vanilla tobacco on the nose with herbal spice and a strawberry tart finish. Young and acidic! There is a very underripe red fruit dominant profile here. Crazy how young it tastes for 23yrs old. Bravo @Shawn R ! — 8 years ago
Wow. Amazed how well this grape held up in the new England climate. — 8 years ago

Stunning expression of Pinot. Layers of complexity. Strawberry and ripe fruit. Wonderful lengthy finish. Top notch. — a year ago
