Les Gourmets Côtes du Forez Red Blend 2024

Simply rich red with a pale pink rim.
Warm, rich, toasted and toasted notes overwhelm the olfactory profile; chestnuts and truffle come forward.
On the palate it is tannin-rich and round in profile.
Medium bodied with a medium finish that begs for reproach as a nutty quality carries oils across the tongue.
Uniquely excellent.

Trésors de Loire Pouilly-Fumé Sauvignon

A fine, elegant Sauvignon Blanc from one of the best vineyard areas in France's picturesque Loire Valley. More understated than those from New Zealand. €14.99 Lidl bargain — 5 years ago

La Volcanique Côtes du Forez Gamay

Omg the structure of this wine! So delightful. Earthy yet jammy nose. Raspberry leaves, pink peppercorn, currant. Bless me for picking wines based on name and label, it finally paid off 🙏🏼 — 10 months ago

Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2020

This is a very tasty Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley.

Lighter on the nose and dry on the palate, with medium plus acidity.

Showing limes, citrus, green apples, grapefruits, light earth and white pepper.

Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel. Juicy and entertaining.

Better on the palate and simpler the nose.

Nicely balanced, crisp and refreshing, and good by itself or with food. A good party wine too.

I paired it with fresh oysters.

91 points.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

$27.

La Sablière Cabernet d'Anjou Rosé 2021

Vintage 2021 | Maligned by winelovers in the Netherlands because it has a sweet touch. I bought anyway. And I drink always with food. This rosé is perfect with my paté as first dish. I combined afterwards with Chinese stir-fried beef, tomato and egg. Absolute lovely effort, especially as a food wine. Small nose but awesome balance. — 3 years ago

Cairanne Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages

Tonnes of black and red berries on the nose, somehow very rich and full but also quite light. Smooth, low to medium tannin on palate, slightly tart. Finish is slightly dry, very well balanced with coffee and raspberry.
Drunk with Alex on Christmas film night.
