We really enjoyed the transparency and jovial nature of this. It made for a delightful refreshing drink. I trust you are all over this @Ronnie Sanders - 2017 — 7 years ago
I really enjoyed this! Such wonderful tension between the explosive fruits and acid that kept it all in check! Imported by the smartest Australian importer @Ronnie Sanders (because he’s the guy who recognized @Fraser McKinley‘s genius, as well as Elaina Brooks).

Haut-Bailly Dinner in SF with Veronique Sanders of Haut-Bailly.
The La Parde is fresh, bright, ripe, dark fruit & easy to drink young. The La Parde will be renamed as Haut-Bailly II with the release of the 2018 vintage. They are also releasing a third wine Haut-Bailly III and a Rosé wine beginning with their 2019 vintage.
Served with Gnocchi a la Parisienne. The best Gnocchi we’ve had outside of Italy @Mathilde French Bistro
Wine will improve 2-3 points with 7-10 more years in bottle.

A great wine in every vintage. Soulful & unique. Clean, fresh melon gives way to herbal accented summer berries. Structured, yet nimble. Palate weight is effortless here. The record is the debut from Kamasi Washington, appropriately titled The Epic. Much like Cibonne, this is bold and courageous. He decided to release triple LP’s for his first two albums, and there isn’t a note of filler on there. Equal parts Coltrane, Tapscott & Pharoah Sanders. He’s a legend already. Great things. — 7 years ago

Haut-Bailly Dinner in SF with Veronique Sanders of Haut-Bailly.
The 2010 is an excellent vintage but, it is for the later part of your life or your children.
This is drinking beautifully with a 4 hour decant. The structure & tension are just starting to their softening stage. The length and balance are in the forget about it range and will just get better & better. Ripe, stunning fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, plum & a touch of blue fruits. Moist clay & top soils, stones, mint, graphite, fresh tobacco, dark cola, anise to black licorice with stunning, withering floral bouquet. Acidity is perfect. The finish is everything you want in a Bordeaux.
Definitely a 99-100 point wine in 15 years plus.
Served with the Cheese Plate; Red Hawk, Hop Along & Roquefort. @Mathilde French Bistro

Half the price of most Côte Rôtie all hits all the characteristic Northern Rhône Syrah descriptors. Nice floral notes, game, tobacco, and olive. I wish I had shared this wine with @Matt Sanders or @Blake Engleman instead of drinking it alone. — 10 years ago

2021 vintage. Medium-heavy body. Rocking that dark cherry/dark plum twin electric guitar attack like Freemark Abbey. Slightly apologetic on the margins for the unadulterated power that is obviously present. Tannins in residence and awake at their posts but more than happy to let the dark fruit do the heavy lifting. Zero plushy, rich loamy vibes here. This is not hard to pin down Barry Sanders, Marshall Faulk, Walter Payton or Marcus Allen. This is straightforward Bo Jackson, Derrick Henry, Jim Taylor, Larry Csonka. Hold on for dear life. 3.20.26. — 3 months ago
