Earthy with dark fruit. a good Thanksgiving wine with good company and good food ($40) — 3 years ago
Sandhi Sanford & Benedict Pinot Noir 2014: Medium-light body. Soft tannins. Medium acidity. Beautiful light red/cranberry color. Delicate perfumed nose with bright red fruits (cherry, strawberry & raspberry). Orange peel. Dried herbs. Earth. Cedar. Smooth easy finish. All in all, I loved, loved, loved this wine. It was drinking perfectly, beautifully balanced and a great representation of the local Sta Rita Hills terroir; felt like I was drinking a Burgundy wine! One of the best Santa Barbara Pinots out there! Happy Sunday Funday! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago
I’ve been meaning to try this producer for some time now. I’ve heard & read good things about their work. So when I saw this on “Last Bottle” for $35, I picked a few up. It didn’t disappoint.
The one thing about the Santa Rita Hills region that I struggle with is a number of their Pinot Noirs, for me, are over extracted. That is not the case here.
The fruits were generally mid red. Some blackberries, strawberries, dark cherries, cherries, nice hues of blueberries, pomegranate & cranberries. Gentle wood use, softly layered baking spices, excellent acidity & nicely polished even finish.
Drinks well now but, will hold my other two bottles 2-3 years for further integration & even something a little better.

We had the 2020 Vintage on 4/10-12/26. A real good Santa Barbara Pinot noir. Tastes of red cherry, strawberry, baking spice and an earthy taste. Purchased at the winery. Would buy more — 2 months ago
Smooth and not too oaked. Got in wine club shipment — 4 years ago
Five single-vineyard CA Pinots vs 5 Burgs: Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanee + three 1er Crus Beaunes. All 2005s. Rob Jensen, owner, and Sue Ryan, lead wine educator at Testarossa joined our group for the tasting. My fave of the night! — 5 years ago

Ruby color with aromas of red fruits, forest floor and cedar spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with cedar notes, black pepper, cinnamon spice and earthy herbs. Full-bodied, fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, oak and a spicy earthy character. Good now! — 3 years ago
The 2020 Chardonnay Sanford & Benedict Vineyard emerges from the original parcel of own-rooted vines planted in 1971. Crushed rocks, sage, mint, citrus and white flowers lend nuance to a bright, airy Chardonnay that is all understatement. The 2020 is not an obvious wine, but for readers who enjoy subtlety and nuance, this is very hard to beat. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2022)
