Hubris Shiraz Mataro 2005

I had the last bottle in 2015 (9.2) and didn‘t think it had developed so well, very polished yet powerful fruit, slight sharpness, shame it was the last bottle — 4 months ago

A cake like element here as well. Extremely complex.

Upon second day evaluation and research i see this wine has american oak. This explains the new smell. That tomato element was new to me. Upon further investigation i realized this was a roasted or even sun dried tomato smell. This is associated with the oak. Very cool wine, this makes me want to sample other american oaked shiraz.
