2021 vintage. Terra Solis Vineyard, Napa Valley Coombsville AVA. I was lucky enough to meet owner Frank W. Bishop ,Jr. , who generously offered me this bottle. He sells most of his grapes ( to some very famous names) and produces a tiny quantity under the Terra Solis label. A 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Coombsville AVA, that is cooler than the Valley floor AVAs because of its proximity to San Pablo Bay, which allows a later harvest and longer hangtime for the grapes. Deep dark red. Intense perfume with black fruit, spices, and toasty oak. In the mouth is beautifully balanced with layers of black fruit, fresh acidity, and relatively moderate alcohol ( abv. 14,2%). Personally, I would have preferred oak with a lighter toast, but that is obviously a stylisic choice, and the wine is excellent indeed. — 3 years ago
Az. Agri. San Valentino ‘Terra Di Covignano’ Sangiovese Superiore Riserva 2012: Medium-bodied. Great balance between acidity & tannins. Dense aromas with a nice concentration of red fruit flavors, plum, earth, spice & oak. Great smooth finish. Shared this beauty with Chris while providing a little Romagna wine education 🤓Definitely an excellent representation of a proper Sangiovese and the local Romagna terroir. Ottimo vino! Buon weekend a tutti! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago

Saw the other note about Big Top— this bottle also from Big Top some years ago for $6. It started out rough, but after 30-40 minutes it’s pretty darn amazing. — 6 years ago
At Eno Terra in Kingston NJ. Wine tasting. Very nice! Macaroons on the nose. Luscious!! — 7 years ago
Noh! Vinho excelente! Me lembrou muito um bordeaux. Tanino forte, um gosto bem fechadinho com um pouco de terra. Achei pouco frutado. — 7 years ago
Got this wine as a Christmas gift. It’s really lovely and unique. Nose = slate, chalk, terra cotta and ocean air. Body = medium. Some good acidity but not overbearing. Main flavors = cranberry and under ripened pineapple. Some sweetness mid palate with a pleasant dry finish. — 3 years ago

Cherry, blackberry, raspberry, currant, mossy earth and oak. Light-bodied and soft tannins. — 5 years ago
There is a bit of caramel, licorice and cherry with some rose petal scent on this nose. A wide spectrum of scents and feelings to associate it with. The palate is really easy going with a good acid drive, rather straight forward, some matter, some grip on the sides, a spherical mid palate and tannins which tend to expand it and make it wider before a finish with red fruit notes and a fresh after taste that last for a while. Second attempt with this wine in this vintage and it clearly leads me to dig dipper into bardolinos. — 6 years ago
