Exultet Estates

Mysterium Pinot Noir/Blanc de Noir 2020

After a couple years absence, Exultet has thankfully brought back this gem and it’s just a bit funkier than previous vintages.

That hint of funk comes early before making way for a crisp finish of some body and lime minerality,

For me, this is a truly special Canadian wine,

Karlo Estates

Quintus Ontario VQA Red Blend 2017

Had at Karlo Estates Winery in Wellington, Prince Edward County. Very fruity, bordeaux blend, cherry notes, bit of peppery notes, super smooth tannins through to the finish. Delicious wine and very impressive. But $66 for a bottle was just too much. — 6 years ago

Dog Point Vineyard

Marlborough Pinot Noir 2017

Well balanced Pinot from this excellent Marlborough producer. 2017 is a tricky year but still very well balanced for a NZ Pinot. Earthiness is balanced with the cherry fruit which reminds me of an Prince Edward county Pinot. Bought it at the winery (the family owned viticulteurs are awesome hosts, I highly recommend to book a tasting) shame they haven’t released the awesome 2019 vintage. One of the nicest Pinot from Marlborough and it is wired to drink in a camp site! 😂. 😢 where is my cheese plate? — 6 years ago

Unfiltered Prince Edward County Pinot Noir

Light ruby in color. It’s from Canada. And it smells of dry grasses and wild flowers. Or maybe those are just the smells stuck in my nose. It’s family time here at the lake house in Canada, with all the tension and buried hurts family time can entail. Enter this Pinot noir. The scent of violet, the taste of rose petals, tart cherries, and red currants. It’s new and familiar at the same time. Brings me right back to myself. Families are families, for better or for worse. Then wine, old grapes made in a new way, complex and fleeting, helps give you the long view and takes you right back home. — 7 years ago

Seresin

Marlborough Pinot Noir 2017

Fresh red cherry, with delicate notes. Not a Burgundian or Oregon or even Prince Edward county (lacks for minerals notes) but still one of the best NZ Pinot I have ever tried. — 6 years ago

Les Trois Fils Prince Edward County VQA Pinot Noir 2016

Tobacco. Smoke. A bit of red fruit…. Mainly raspberry. It really has come along after aging it a few years.

Overall: fantastic.

Looking up places to stay in PEC so I can go back to get this wine as we speak… Probably my favourite Pinot from there, or dare I say… Ontario.

More body than your typical Pinot Noir. Deep but mellowed plum flavours, it has benefited from its age, — 6 years ago

Exultet Estates

The Blessed Prince Edward County VQA Chardonnay 2016

Best Chardonnay in Ontario six years in a row for a good damn reason. Big bold and buttery. What a beast of a wine. This rivals some burgundies and destroys most Californians. Worth the price. Nice operation going on at Exultet. — 8 years ago
