Huge acid upfront, nice sweetness but not too much on the back end! — 6 years ago
Almost midori-like character instantly on the nose, Apple / kiwi cordial, peach jelly, spearmint and butterscotch tobacco. The palate strikes the perfect balance of sweetness, acidity aswell as precision and clean fruit. It slips right across the mid palate and glides on through. Pretty faultless really. Drink now or put down for a decade plus — 9 years ago
I had the 2010 Beerenauslese rather than the Auslese in 2015. For me: unbeatable! The first time I am awarding 10 points. A bit of lemon, a bit of apple, a bit of everything. Just the nicest sweet wine I can imagine. — 11 years ago
Candied stone fruit, pineapple and vervain on the nose. Appeals fresh & clean, not showing his 11 years of age. Well balanced acid, a bit sweet on the mid-palate. — 11 years ago
Delicious! Less soaring aromatics than something from the Mosel but great depth and length. — 12 years ago
Sporting a killer nose that could only be German, leaping out of the glass with youthful vigour is the Kiedrich Turmberg 1er Lage Trocken from Weingut Robert Weil, a drop-dead gorgeous riesling from the Rheingau.
With great minerality, the nose features aromas of oyster shell, the freshest of lime zest, peach, cardamom, faint petrol and fresh cream. It’s a wine you can sniff for ages, but then it’s got somewhere to be. It veritably explodes in the mouth, that lime returning with a tongue-full of acidity and razor-sharp precision. Flecks of white pepper add a slight element of spice, while it races through the palate to a long, bone-dry finish.
A powerful, chiselled example of Riesling trocken. — 5 years ago
Solid, not the best of her 2015 bottlings, but we sure ain't complaining. — 9 years ago
1959 Auslese for how much?! There is something truly unique and precious about a wine that has never left its place of origin... it's what some call provenance.
This now defunct #Rheingau estate was at this time on top of its game and produced some of the finest #Rieslings from #GrandCru vineyard sites in #Eltville and #Kiedrich. Eltviller #Kalbspflicht Riesling #Auslese from Jacob Fischer Erben was so fresh and lively that the closet guess was 1976!
Where else can you find such a phenomenal wine from an awesome year that is pushing 60 years of age for $250 in a restaurant???

super Rheingau Riesling..! — 12 years ago
Light touch of green . More complexity , quite fresh fruits , apple , lemon peel , mineral , touch of smoke . On the palate quite round and rich more yellow fruits . Mineral , much more persistence on the palate, balanced acidity. Young will age quite well over the next 5-10 years . — 4 years ago
Tropical fruit underneath the predominant apricot, but lacking the intensity of the Grafenberg which I wanted. — 8 years ago
This gorgeous wine was flat out AWESOME!!!
I've always liked this vintage and #Weil nailed it was classic examples of balanced #Rieslings from a big ripe, but not too ripe, vintage. This #KiedrichTurmberg was so perfectly integrated between acidity and sweetness that it never came off as top-heavy or cloying in the least--this is AMBROSIA!!! #2009 #RobertWeil #Rheingau #Rieslinglover

Lime skin, peach, salt, gunflint, liquified slate and apple only begin to describe the deep aromas and long flavors in this kaleidoscopic Riesling wine. Freakishly balanced with body, flavor, intensity and elegance. Year in and year out this is my favorite Riesling. #weil #rheingau #erstesgewachs #grafenberg #kiedrich — 11 years ago
Great inexpensive Riesling, semi dry, doesn't have much of a acidic taste, soft and fruity, balanced — 12 years ago
