The 2018 is a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon and 43% Merlot. Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, floral spice and cedar notes. On the palate flavors of fresh blackberry and black cherry with cacao, tobacco and spice. Fine tannins, well balanced on long finish, ending with earthy mineral character. Very nice, will age well.

Over the weekend I opened the 2018 Château Pgélan Ségur Saint-Estèphe Left Bank Bordeaux. A blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon and 43% Merlot.

On the nose was very expressive and floral, black cherry, blackberry, fig, black currant, licorice, creamy chocolate, iron, violets and earth.

On the palate was black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, licorice, spice, minerality, light oak, herbal and dark rich earth.

This is a full bodied wine wiyg smooth fresh mouthfeel mouthwatering medium + acidity and medium + grainy tannins that leaves you with a long black fruit earthy graphite finish. This is a beautiful wine and worth the price. You can drink now or cellar for a later date. Have a wonderful week ahead and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

Medium ruby , medium wide ruby rim , youthful colour . Quite open and fruit forward with quite high toned cassis , grafite tinged blackberry , and an earthy , dusty character . On the palate quite round and generous but well balanced , sweet blackberry, blackcurrant fruit with the grippy grafite tannins and enough freshness . Reasonable length sweet cassis , with a grafite and herbal tinged finish . Drinking well now , though obviously youthful , will probably to continue to show well over the next 10 years or so. At Hawksmoor , Liverpool , 18th Jan 2026

Seeing the sun for the first time in weeks! This wine is making my day even brighter. A rich, deep ruby color with a complex nose. Dark fruit, herbs, lavender, chocolate. Flavors of sour plum, over ripe berries, crushed herbs, vanilla. Fairly tannic and still plenty youthful, this could age a good long while. I bought the last bottle at Binny's for $25, which i think was a great deal.

This was just hands down delish. Some people scoff at young Bordeaux but I say drink what you like and when you like it.
