Les Griottes de Brulhié Côte de Brouilly Gamay

Absolutely a delicious wine. Amazingly sweet crackly fruit, velvety but substantial tannin and terrific length and freshness. Huge floral bouquet. Very complex and spicy. Needs air but amazing. Even better day 2 with black cherry Gamay fruit and awesome length, crackle and freshness.

These bottlings from Thivin are some of my favorite Beaujolais. Obviously will be better in a few years - but I like to open one early and leave the rest in storage to get an early sense. This is excellent per usual - with a 4 hour decant, it’s actually quite in balance with great red fruit, a nice sappy earthy quality, and obviously excellent acid. Delicious.
