Light in color with a brown twinge. Quite perfumed. Sweet Pinot fruit. Better than their IDA Buntsandstein at this point in it’s evolution. Orange zest, strawberry, cranberry. Quite tart and kind of oaky. For some reason all the big boys of the 20‘ vintage do not come across as a top vintage for E & M. Good but they just don’t reach the heights of other vintage’s.

May 11th, 2024I thought I would retire. But for this I came back. A stunning wine 9.6 now will be 9.8 or more with age. Turmeric, oregano, Vernet Branca without the bitterness. World Class - a class of its own really. Too bad so little is made.
