Oct 13th, 2019Day 2 notes. Was killer yesterday and needed maybe 35 minutes to get going. Today, subdued nose of red fruits, cherries, spice and mineral. Very Pinot. Superb earthiness and tree bark. Sublime. Palate is elegant and mineral with lovely snappiness and purity. Very elegant. So complete and lithe.

Best showing yet. I’ve found that southern German Pinot doesn’t age well. But at 10 years this one shines. @Lyle Fass thanks for this. Good stuff.

Seems disjointed and unconvincing today. Red currant, pomegranate, crushed marble, quite harsh May be in a dum phase.

Dec 22nd, 2021Less convincing than the 2015. Earthy raspberry/cherry nose. Light in color elegant. Linear right now. Give it some air ca. 30 min. Tea notes, raspberry, hint of cherry 🍒 and licorice. Might be closed right now. So I did needle this wine with a Coravin then a week later it did shine! It gained weight and elegance.
