Marvelous bouquet after an hour in decanter. Meaty & gamey yet soft, very fine tannins. Done in a very traditional style.

Needs at least 1 hour to start to open. Delicate spearmint nuances. Tight but very fine tannic structure. Long lived.

Somm said 2016 is smoother than 2015 because of hot summer. Deep, earthy but some lightness relative to a brunello.

Amazing bottle. Was drinking perfectly upon opening. Deep fruit, classic dusty and aromatic nose. The issue was structure, the last glass was weak and did not hold up.
