A new grape for me (bovale), from Sardinia. Heavy on the nose, distinct peppery note and ripe. Better when open 45 minutes. With Sly in London. — 3 years ago
Overall quality is fine and dandy, super fresh with slight frizzante texture on the palette.
Not sure if its the super freshness or wine making direction, but, not a fan of the excessive acidity and grassy notes in the direction of Sauv Blanc. Grabbed as cooking wine (and chef sippy) so not too concerned, but had I purchased for dinner its not what I expect nor want. I love Sardinia sandy fennel notes, hate NZ Grassy. — 5 years ago
Brioche with applesauce and a few raisins on the nose. Very light with a refreshing tartness after initial sweetness. A delicate dessert wine, not too sweet, which doesn't overwhelm the palate. Not very well suited to any rich dessert pairings. — 8 years ago
JL tasting 1/17/17. Very floral and stony nose and very acidic and minerals palate with long acidic finish. Very firm body with surprising bite. Never had this grape. $15 good value. 14 ABV. — 9 years ago

You can give a twist to your night with this
It could be a wine that can make you think and talk about what it is.
Obviously there is a reason or two why they don't make Monica 100% in every winery in Sardinia. In saying that this particular label is worth to give it a go. Fairly long — a year ago
It took 4 wines this weekend to finally find something I like... This one is big and bright and reminds me of Southern rhone wines I liked. Olive, black fruits, some spice like clove and other Christmas spice and garrigue too. The palate is very well made a great acid drive, some width, some bright black fruit shining through and through, a bit of weight, some drying tannins in the rear, before a great drying finish with black fruits, a tiny salty and bitter touch. It could be a great côte du Rhône or even a cote du Roussillon / priorat. It's great! — 3 years ago
Lemon, pears and minerals. Went very well with Chilean sea bass! — 4 years ago

Heerlijke fruitig wijn van Sardinië. Als je daar bent in oktober (2025) met een heerlijk zonnetje op een terras, dan smaakt deze wijn nog beter. Fruitig, smaakvol en een vol bouquet. — 8 months ago
This wine is yellow in the glass, with hints of green showing. The nose displays massive citrus fruit, some apricot and melon aromas, and a big whiff of salinity. The palate has an interesting mix of lemon, peach, and orange peel. There is a savory slant to the flavors, too. The acidity is fresh, stopping just short of bracing. The suggested pairings with seafood and soft cheeses are right on target. It goes well with butter-sauteed spinach, too. — a year ago
Another bottle three weeks later and still outstanding. — 4 years ago
