Couleur presque brune, un nez incroyable, du fruit confit, une texture sirupeuse un peu, il y a encore de l’acidité pour aider à balancer un peu cette richesse extravagante, la longueur est interminable. Belle expérience d’en boire un verre ou deux. 93-94
Almost brown in colour, the nose is amazingly complex, the texture is almost like syrup, there is still some acidity to balance that richness that is almost too much, and the sugar is wow, but it is still delicious and the length never stops, great experience to drink this wine that was made in only 4 vintages. — 4 years ago
first and foremost was NOT expecting the orange color ~ have had numerous aged botrytis bottles ranging from golden to brown but the orange really threw me
apricot, quince, orange marmalade, grilled orange & pineapple, honey, caramelized brown sugar ~ plenty of sweet severed with acidity
though went well with diver scallops & risotto the most incredible pairing was with Stilton on Égalité mini toasts ~ and not just for flavor ~ but texturally transcendental — 5 years ago
2008 vintage Carneros district. This is a great example of a terrific "Village" (in Burgundy terms) Chardonnay and it shows how David Ramey's wines can age. Still young at 9 years old. Powerful nose with brioche, ripe white stone fruit and butter ( not unlike some of the more flashy Meursault wines like Goutte d'Or). Broad, intense taste, maybe not the most subtle, but irresistible. Great acidity keeps it balanced. Amazing length too. — 9 years ago

And we love this wine from your hometown, Adrien. Merci! @davidbouley — 10 years ago
Claudine Gaunoux owns an amazing slice of Goutte d'Or. The 08 is sensational. No oak just Inox in the making of this burg! — 11 years ago

Praying this will still be available at a reasonable price in a few years. Fantastic. 1/500 bottles. — 2 years ago
Amazing on the nose - right up my street. A little less amazing on the tongue but still good — 5 years ago
Burgundy night. Started off with a nice champagne followed by a Cali roussanne to calibrate the palates.
Lemon tart on the nose. Really nice and sharp acidity (more so than I get with nose mersaults). Orange rind on the palate. Oak is difficult to find here, actually. — 8 years ago
2001: Not many of these bottles in circulation. Deep golden color. Poured out like oil in the glass. No way to state the grams per liter of sugar, but as rich as Philippe Foreau's Goutte d'Or Vouvray. Long fish. The word around the table was that it was picked at 42° brix.
