Great expression of Merlot. Red and black fruit at the beginning with chocolate. Later the fruit fades leaving a nice herbal and vanilla notes. — 2 years ago
2012 has aged amazingly very nice — 5 years ago
Light berry and subtle floral notes. Boysenberry with some toasted oak notes with a longer lingering on the tongue then most pinots. — 8 years ago
Beautiful wine, deep red color, strong berries, chocolate & currant. Not disappointed. — 10 years ago
Not your average “Rose”, Malbec-based, full bodied, rich, strong tannins, paired beautifully with a delicate beef tartare. Because of its depth, definitely better with food than on its own — 2 years ago
Dark ruby color with garnet rim. On the nose delicate leather, plum and tobacco. Medium low acid, soft tannins, creamy/velvety texture with some wood tones, leather, pepper, dried herbs and some gentle fruit. Good stuff. — 2 years ago
Bordeaux blend. Great deal of black fruit, leather and some oak. Supple tannins but after 1 hour decant the feeling is smooth. Was fantastic with red meat and later on its own. — 2 years ago
Delicious. Fruit well balanced with a bit of earth and mocha. Tannins soft on this 08. — 5 years ago
The bottle I’m writing up is the 15th anniversary edition. 38% CS, 30% Syrah, 17% Malbec & 15% Merlot. Nice blend. I tried to figure out what O.P.C. means and the best I can figure is Other Peoples Claret. Not remembering how this ended up in my collection. — 6 years ago
Nice Viognier. Strong vanilla notes. — 9 years ago
One of the best Malbec's I've ever had. A standard to measure all Malbec's. — 10 years ago
This survived vacuum sealed in the refrigerator from last Saturday. Seems it benefited from its cork separation that long. 🤷♂️
I bought this two weeks ago and last weekend is the first time I’ve had this producer. So, why not make it an 07? I bought it for $69 two weeks ago from my new secret source. 🤫
Last weekend it was good but still fairly youthful. Tonight, round, softened, ripe fruit elegance. I like it this weekend better.
The nose is ripe, candied with just a faint hint of baked fruits; blackberries w/ some bramble, wild, black raspberries, black plum pudding, dark, slightly baked cherries/strawberries & raspberries glass edges. Melted, dark chocolate, black licorice, softly layered baking spices, dark & mid berry cola, steeped fruit tea, melted caramel, some eucalyptus notes, brownie, super soft earth of, dark, moist, rich, sweet soil, some light flinty hues, faint tobacco & leather notes, sandalwood with dark flowers and soft lavender & violets for days.
The entry is round, full, lush and juicy. Great mouthfeel. Ripe, ruby, candied with just a faint hint of baked fruits; blackberries w/ some bramble, wild, black raspberries, black plum pudding, dark, slightly baked cherries/strawberries & raspberries glass edges. Melted, dark chocolate, black licorice, softly layered baking spices, dark spice with some palate heat, dark & mid berry cola, steeped fruit tea, melted caramel, some eucalyptus notes, black tea, brownie, super soft, dark earth, limestone marl, moist, rich, sweet soil, some light flinty hues, faint tobacco & leather notes, sandalwood, moist volcanic clays with soft dark flowers, liquid lavender & violets. Round, perfect acidity. This finish is the definition of elegance, balance, structure, length, tension & and two-minute finish that lasts minutes. Perfect storage.
I expected this to be half gone and it is better this weekend vs last.
Congratulations Team USA on an excellent 2024 Olympics. Paris on being an amazing Olympic host aside from that whole toxic River Seine thing. Ladies soccer today & throughout. Shutouts 💪! Men’s B-ball delivering. What a storied career and a giant stepping up in the biggest moments is Steph Curry & LeBron James. Great watch. — 2 years ago

Well balanced and exactly what I look for in a Chardonnay. Nothing overly intriguing, but solid. — 8 years ago

Vibrant, bright, very nice on its own and very complementary to lightly seared shrimp, burrata and rustic sourdough. Goes real fast! - 2014 — 10 years ago

Deep Ruby with aromas of cassis, black cherry, violet, black olive, blackberry, wet stone and cedar. This wine is 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Malbec and labeled 15%abv but it feels higher than that. It’s lean on the mid palate with a medium finish. I expected more intensity and better balance of the fruit with tannin and alcohol. At this point in its life (at 7 years of age) I want a more seamless presentation. This is a bit heavy and a tough match with food. — 6 months ago
