Château Cap De Merle

Bosquet des Papes

Chante Le Merle Vieilles Vignes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grenache - Mourvedre Blend 2010

Close to pop and pour. Not juicy, but lots of red fruit — strawberry, raspberry, cherry (the pits). Also plum. Some leather. Minerals and clay. A little violet. Dried rose petals. Still has some grip — plum-skin-like. Acidity balances it all very nicely. Really good. 92. — 2 days ago

Green Cap. Exudes class. Nose gets confectionary after a while. Crazy confectionery. So aromatic and complex. Palate is like an orb with no edges due the kisses of sugar. So refined and finesse driven. Pillow like texture. A marvel but needs maybe 15+ years really if I am being honest. — a year ago

Château Cap de Mourlin

St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Very classically styled Bordeaux for 26$ from the San Diego wine company bought last week. Quite a deal!!!! Cigar box, chassis, blueberry. Tons of tannins left! But i would just decant and drink this now. — 3 months ago

Brut Méthode Cap Classique Chardonnay 2019

Good brightness and freshness albeit with a whiff of cava and finishing a tad sharp. Wishing zero dosage wasn’t so trendy… — 3 months ago

Very smoky when we first opened but the tannins really mellowed on the second day. Lots of body. — 6 months ago

Bon Courage Estate

Cap Classique Jacques Bruére Blanc de Blancs 2011

Creamy lemon and a subtle salinity and just a hint of yeastiness. Bright, lifted texture and presence and while it doesn't have the depth of Champagne proper, it is definitely delicious and well made. — 3 years ago
