Les Champs-Gains Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay

Razor sharp clarity and focus, I could happily spend my days drinking Pillot on an abounded forlorn island, yet feel nothing but pleasure and enthusiasm. Bday dinner! — 2 years ago

Champs Royaux Chablis Chardonnay 2018

A little floral, a little mineral on the nose. High acid, lemon zest, lingering chalky minerals. Light and lean. Get to Know Chardonnay Class. — 5 years ago

Les Champs Perdrix Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

Not a 1er Cru, but it should be! Lovely Vosne. Velvet, sappy cherry fruit with Vosne spice. Hints of vanilla and stones. A whiff of oak char on the nose, but less so on the palate. Decanted for 2 hours prior to consumption. — 5 years ago

A little bit fuller bodied than I anticipated but I felt that was a good quality. It’s not rich necessarily but it has some oomph. — 6 years ago

Insanity on the nose. Just bonkers. Sickness. Huge spice. Huge I mean huge spice. Also super mineral and very pure. Confectionary cotton candy like aromas and tree bark. Also tea. Maybe hoisin as well. Mindblowing. Big palate and immense power but incredibly elegant. It has Grand Cru grip and intensity and it is considered the best wine at the estate. Better than Clos des Chenes. It is insanely powerful and stacked to the brim with bright fruit and mineral that has sap, and really stains the palate. I think in 2 hours this will be insane. It’s changing every minute. What a wine. — 8 years ago

lovely and deeply fruited nose but also very mineral under all that. Juicy and super concentrated, silky and sweet but youngest of all the wines and very very mineral finish. Needs maybe 3-7 years. very delicate — 3 years ago

Les Grands Champs Cuvée Unique Bourgogne Pinot Noir

From a lieu dit surrounded by Gevrey. Definitely young but with a couple hour decant quite enjoyable and accessible. Tons of sweet cherry on the nose; aromatically really quite intense. Full on the palate, get more tannin than I was expecting, but very nicely balanced by a lot of acid. Enjoyed it with a roast chicken provencal but could have stood up to red meat too. Nice qpr at ~$30. Note this is not the “cuvee unique”, which apparently a 100% new oak bottling - this is the regular which is 85% old. — 6 years ago

Nice clean, balanced wine. Roundness that ends in an acid pop at the finish. One of the more complex wines of this variety that I have had. — 7 years ago
