2016 vintage. I prefer the 2016 to the 2015, more fruit to cover the chalkiness. Probably the most impressive Castillon I've ever tasted. 2016 vintage. This estate was bought by Amélie Osmond and Victor Mischler in 2015, so this should be their very first vintage in full control. A very good start for these neophytes with this blend of 75% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc that displays ripe cherry fruit, spices and some smokiness. It has good concentration and a serious ripe tannin structure, balanced acidity and good length. Provides a lot of drinking pleasure now, but should age well and gain additional complexity.
