Very northern Rhône. Rich spicy and savory. — 4 years ago
Wow! Beautifully floral, soft tannins and lots of freshness while keeping the characteristic black fruit — 5 years ago
My last Côte Rôtie of Coteaux de Tupin, deep red color, nose oozing of smoke and dark berries, taste very light and not as thrilling like it used to be🧐 — 7 years ago
The wine finally opened up and fill all expectations...spicy nose and very refreshing mouthfeel. — 8 years ago
@Delectable Wine this is Julien Barge Saint Joseph "Les Coteaux de Legende" it's not in the database. Thanks.
Soaring nose. So 2015. A hint of Brett is so appealing here amongst all the blackberry and raspberry deep fruit. Intoxicatingly aromatic. Palate is as 15 as it gets. Intensely complex, juicy, ripe and so deep with out of this world freshness. Thrilling. Hints of game and smoke with an intense granite finish. Awesome wine and shows the greatness of 15 at the value price point. Awesome wine. — 9 years ago

This is a terrific Condrieu lookalike. Intense nose has deep orchard fruit and a Muscat-like musk. Lots of low-toned crushed rock minerality. In the mouth it’s got deep ripe fruit that asymptotically verges on Gewurz but pulls away and gets intense minerally on the finish. Nice acids for a Viognier. Great value. — 4 years ago
A Northern Rhône take on a Southern Rhône blend - less stewed fruit, more floral and herbal and nuance. Lovely. — 5 years ago
Big, juicy — 7 years ago
One of the great new Condrieu. Right there with Coteaux de Chery and not quite Coteaux de Vernon which is another level. Easily top 3. Stunning perfume or flowers, some not too ripe tropical fruit wonderful lavender and sage. There is a firm mineral core behind the perfume but it is a special nose. Palate has wonderful purity, density and freshness with good minerality and wonderful juicy intense structure. Wow. Wonderful purity and freshness and showing stunning complexity already. Brilliant. I’m sure with air my score will increase. — 8 years ago
Great wine, still needs a couple of years to round out. — 9 years ago
Ovenbird w M and Ritchie. Mineral. Textured. Fresh. Paired well w ankimo.
The 2012 Condrieu Coteaux du Chery, which comes from one of the most heralded sites in the appellation, is also brilliant (as is his 2011!). The most rich and textured of the lineup, it offers thrilling notes of white peach, crushed rock, buttered grapefruit, flowers and tangerine to go with a medium to full-bodied, layered, yet brilliantly fresh and detailed texture that keeps you coming back to the glass. It too will drink nicely for 4-5 years.
I had a fabulous visit with proprietor Andre Perret at his cellar located just north of Chavanay. Soft spoken, charming and generous, he runs an immaculate cellar and releases up to three Condrieus in a vintage. In addition to his whites, he fashions elegant, almost Burgundian-styled reds from Saint Joseph that warrant more attention.

Real Sleeper - figured this was going to be tired & over the hill, but it was glorious! Needed 90 minutes to really open up but then it unfurled with pure black & blue fruits interspersed w/tar, leather, minerals, florals, meat & spice all wrapped in finely grained tannins wrapped in velvet. This was a product of the insanely hot 03 vintage, but this is an absolute complete wine - a gem. — 5 years ago
Bought at the Domaine in March 2020. Drank with Richard and Sue Spooner at the Gîte on April 30, 2020. Roasted chicken. — 6 years ago
Really good! An interesting blend of Rhône valley and northern Italy. Blend of bright cherry and some darker red fruits. Lots of herbs as well. I’m confused, but happy. — 9 years ago
The wine is spectacular. I can't even imagine what Coteaux du Vernon would taste like. Restrained, balanced. Mango and lychee sticks out. Had this with lobster tail and scallops. Perfect pairing. — 10 years ago
