Nose has white pepper, spruce needles, cedar shavings, fresh cherry and mashed black currant.
Palate has pepper dusted mashed cherry, tart blueberry, black cherry, (light) limestone dust and (light) new oak. Medium levels of acidity/tannin help this wine to be very soft and enjoyable.

vintage 2022 | Pineau d’Aunis. So light harted. Raspberry expression and some iron. Stubborn fine taste. Paired with a classic from home: tartare tartlet. Simple but so lovely. Interesting unknown part of the enormous Loire area: Coteaux du Loir (without e). My second day pairings are always completely coincidental, and to my surprise often better than the initial one. The Pineau d’Aunis offered a wonderful spicyness with a Chinese mie. — 2 months ago

Discovered this little gem at The Ordinary Raw Bar in Charleston, SC. I asked for a dry rose and looked over to see the bartender pouring sparkling. I was not excited. Then I was blown away. Show stopper! Bright and vibrant with a perfect pepper grip. Love love love. — 4 months ago

Nose has metallic blackberry, white pepper, ripe plum, prune and baking spices.
Palate has tart plum, dried blackberry, white pepper on mashed black cherries and potting soil. Medium body, light minerality, medium finish. Nice wine, young, could really benefit from a few years of proper resting.

A solid pairing with local (Jacüterie/Hudson Valley, NY) British Bangers on the grill tonight, peppery wine with well spiced, fresh sausage, yum! — 6 years ago

Some Dude
I’m really glad I didn’t get this wine in a blind tasting, because it is 70% Pineau d’Aunis! But I’m very glad that I did to taste it. It’s wonderful, bright and lively with an amazing Pepper note to it that makes it wonderful with steak, or in our case, osso bucco. — an hour ago
