Bought at winery today. Needed an hour to open. Nose and palate very similar. Bramble of berries, cherry juice, a bunch of spices from baking to savory herbs, a bit of tree bark or some other wood but not oak. What a great producer of CA zin with different styles under 1 roof. Should drink more from them when in the mood for zin. — 5 years ago

Not that familiar with Zin but had a good mouthfeel, not much tannin, strawberry up front and was good with steak. — 8 years ago
Very nice. Can hold a short while, or drink now. A bit forward on the first day, and found more approachable and relaxed on the 2nd day. — 9 years ago

2018 much more minerality on the nose! Not what Zin reminds you of. Red cherries blackberry black pepper spices licorice medium acidity long spicy finish moderate body dark. notes from visit to the winery.
Alexander Valley. Bright red volcanic soils, steep rocky slopes and western exposure. — 4 years ago
Lighter bodied, juicy Grenache from Clarksburg. Fruit forward pomegranate jam, and strawberry without being over the top fruity. Great with a chill. Pair with chicken teriyaki or lamb schwarma. — 6 years ago
Surprisingly fruity on both the nose and taste for a chenin blanc. Smells of honey and flowers, maybe lychees. Light acid with a bit of honey sweetness. Really nice with chicken Marsala. UPDATE: Tried it again 1 day later and it changed quite a bit. Tasted less of honey and more of tart apples and lemons. Also, the acid was less that left it a bit flabby. Definitely better the first day. — 6 years ago
California knows how to party... — 9 years ago
This one aging gracefully. Primary fruity and floral aromatics have evolved into loamy dark fruits. On the palate it maintains its elegance and freshness and shows black cherry, black raspberry and subtler spice notes with a very satisfying finish! 2011 Vintage — 10 years ago
