This domaine so frequently overdelivers and this is a great example. So much of the joy of good rosé champagne yet utterly it’s own thing; intense red berry, minerals and marzipan nose, tart cherries and watermelon sour gummy candy palate. This white wine is five years old now and is showing some wonderful signs of its age. The fruitiness of its youth is becoming more complex and savory. Aromas of wet sidewalk, citrus and salinity come forward on the nose, while the palate is driven by minerals and earth. Muscadet wines are universally thought to be good pairings with oysters, shellfish or any sort of seafood, and this is certainly no exception. — 4 years ago

Pushing the rich end of the Chenin spectrum with aromas of peaches, apricots, vanilla and coconut custard. The palate is mildly oaky with some sweetness. Chewy. Opulent.

But this also has the quality of hot stones and bitter almond on the finish. Promising but needs more time to develop and settle into its richness. Not a lot of freshness to carry it now. These bottlings seem to hit their stride after 3-4 years. — 6 years ago
