A relaxed meal before Thanksgiving kicks off in earnest. Marcella hazan’s simple tomato sauce with butter and onions over some good tagliatelle, some broccoli raab, and sausage. Perfect pairing. Gave it a 1.5 hour decant which was the right call. Definitely a bit of “rustic” tannins but the fruit is quite open and giving and the finish is pure with good acid. Briny, acid packed, ( there’s not a lot of nose…yet) straw/hay, yellow stone fruits. Really nice lingering pricklinesses,
Goes very well with Charred raab & orange shrimp. In my glass, quite orange tinged, in the Mrs. Smaller glass, pale white?

Kent makes wonderful wine. That said, this would not have been my first choice to have with the Bolognese. However, it was a perfect pairing. Absolutely delicious. And this is becoming one of our favorite restaurants. — a month ago
