Crémant d'Alsace

NV 25% of all wine made in Alsace is Cremant. This is a jolly good Cremant with frivolous fruit impressions in smell and balanced taste. Pinot Auxerrois. 20 months sur lattes. Dosage 2 grams. Love it. | paired with scrambled eggs at breakfast. — 4 years ago

Cremant d’Alsace was on our wedding reception tables 33 years ago and since then for any spur-of-the-moment celebration that happily pops up!

Riesling Herrenreben Vendanges Tardives 2018

Vintage 2018 | damn! I picked a Riesling from the cellar for choucroute… a hit in my face: moelleux. Beautiful wine but wrong pick. Vendanges Tardives. Happily we had melon with prosciutto/ham as appetizer. — 3 years ago

Linsenberg Vin 'Alsace Riesling 2015

One of the worst labels I’ve seen in a while, but the wine is exemplary. Gorgeous nose has pungent stony minerality, crisp zingy apple, and lemon-lime. Soft and mouthfilling, but with a real sense of lightness. Crisp and dry but full of very pure fruit. Long, snappy finish. — 6 years ago

Holder Gewurztraminer 2017

Delectable Wine
9.1

Good full yellow-straw. Ripe aromas of stone fruits, jasmine, flint and honey are enlivened by a strong note of spices. Enters broad and spicy, then more linear and taut, the ripe citrus and peach flavors perked up by harmonious, ripe acidity. Typical wine from granite-dominated soil, featuring a spicy, broad entry, then a more narrow, high-acid middle and finish; the Holder’s signature ripe yellow fruit is also evident on the long, suave finish. Excellent Alsace Riesling. Displays all the super differences between last night's Mosel and acidic Alsace wines. This is reminiscent of Muscadet. — 9 years ago
