Aux Thorey Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

The Vosne-esque Aux Thorey is showing beautifully at age 14, perfumed and seductive with excellent depth and concentration. It’s dark fruited, black tea and spice tinged and laced with minerality. In a great place. — a month ago

Bourgogne Aligoté 2022

Started soft and a little salty, opened beautifully to become sweeter, more tart and intense. Very nice experience. — 2 years ago

Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Les Dames Huguettes PINOT NOIR 2019

My first taste of the 2019 vintage and this was a rather good entry point. New hautes cotes bottling from Cathiard and the Cathiard style shines through. Dark fruit, plush and sweet, silky tannins, nicely balanced with good acid. Easily the best hautes cotes I have had. — 4 years ago

Nuits Saint Georges Pinot Noir 2008

Initially heavy on the tart cherry and cola flavors. Over an hour, the acidity mellowed and this became fuller — 6 years ago

Les Clos De L'orme Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir 2015

Medium dar rubi robe. Nose of flowers, dark cherries and a hint of asian spices. Very long, medium bodied and complex in the mouth, this is outrageously good and oh so young. Great stuff. Our valentines diner :) — a month ago

Lighter style for Cathiard. Floral with rose petal, cranberry, potpourri overtones. Good to drink now while I wait for the Vosne. — 2 years ago

Aux Reignots Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

The 2012 Cathiard Aux Reignots (along with Malconsorts and Petits Monts, my favorite 1er cru Vosne vineyard), is much more masculine and dark fruited than the MG. Really a great side by side. There is some reduction and prevalent new oak, but there is just such depth and structure to this wine and it’s destined to live for the long haul. But unlike how reticent many 12’s can be right now, as the reduction dissipates, it offers a great deal of pleasure. Reignots is really a special vineyard. — 5 years ago

Bourgogne Hautes Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir 2020

Oh this is sooo good. Cherries, top soil and spices all along. Fine bottle with good length and an elegant finish. Punches above its weight. All Cathiard wines are now expensive in France having caught up with the US prices. A pity as the wines are top notch. — 6 months ago

@Antonio Gianola not exactly.. new label for « Bourgogne Grand Ordinaire »... same blend Pinot Noir / Gamay. Not the same way of vinification. Both are greedy for light wine lovers. Cheers 🍇🍇🍇
