Riserva Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Sangiovese Blend

Rome, Italy-last night here and found my new fav! Dark, it coats your throat as you drink it. It’s full bodied. Long finish. Oak-ey. Smokey. Lovely!! — 3 years ago

Domaine de la Potardiere

Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine Sur Lie Melon de Bourgogne

color: pale straw
aroma: stone fruit, salty undertone, green apple
flavor: meyer lemon, tarragon, smoked salt,

aroma: medium
acidity: medium plus
body: medium

incredibly expressive wine coming out of muscadet. the nose is so soft compared to the mineral driven, acidic palette. i was expecting more of a biscuit-ey lies-iness, however, there is an immensely unique and pleasant smokey finish to this wine. it’s dying to be paired with some seafood!!

Château Yvonne

Saumur Champigny Cabernet Franc

Vegetal. High tannins, high salinity, light bodied, great chilled and easy drinking. Not too pizza-ey. Great! — 2 years ago

Haden Fig

Cancilla Vineyard Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2020

Very barn-ey, pasture, rhubarb and ocean salt nose. Sharp and tart cherry flavor. A bit spritzy. This wine has a lot going on. Raspberry now-and-later and starburst. Not getting the stoney-ness often found in Pinot noir, but that is not a bad thing. Probably should have let it aerate a bit more before tasting. — 4 years ago

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

From a 0,375l.
Still performing really well. Dark, concentrated, clay-ey blackberry, plush and low-acidic mouthfeel.
Drink now or in the next 5 years.

Domaine du Carrou (Dominique Roger)

Sancerre Rosé Pinot Noir 2011

I don’t usually go for rose, but this impressed - nectarin-ey with saline and a nice zip. Interesting to have a bottle like this with a bit of age on it. Still fresh even with an alarmingly soft cork. — 8 years ago

Rouge-Gorge Coteaux Du Loir Pineau d'Aunis

Love love as always! Is this my favorite vintage for this wine? Maybe not. Does it taste a little less Pineau d’aunis-ey than usual? Probably. But I’m splitting hairs here. Awesome wine that I bet will age well — 4 years ago

Ultreia De Valtuille Bierzo Mencía 2008

Although this wine has gained in complexity and depth over the years, I still can’t get passed its Pinot-ey character...
So, to me, this is a well-made wine, which is food for thought... not for the heart.

Les Garants Fleurie Gamay 2014

A few years ago bought several bottles thinking I could medium age a few while I dipped in and out of tasting them. Now only one bottle left. Oops. I like best how its drinking now, has a nice acidic snap, had a broad, ungainly tomato-ey tone which now feels fresh & terroir specific, ie, red fruits incl wild raspberries & strawberries. Has the Beaujo straightforwardness I cherish. Weygandt imp. — 8 years ago
