Cheers to my 6,000th review on Vivino. A Big milestone deserves a big wine. This was on my wishlist for a while now. Go big or go home!

Deep inky in color with a short brick rim. Unbelievable. Not showing age at all.

Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, black currants, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, leather, earth, Mediterranean spices, beef jerky, peppercorn, cedar, leather, vanilla and licorice.

Full bodied, bold, smooth and elegant, with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet plums, vanilla, cedar, light vegetables, spices, smoke, tobacco, chocolates, coffee, cola, pencil lead and peppercorn.

Long finish with firm tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon based, Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Showing great complexity and a great mouthfeel. Big with bold tannins. Delicious and yummy.

This 19 year old is drinking very nicely now, and really shows like a young wine. Has at least 15 years in it.

After 3 hours of airtime, forest floor notes come in on the nose. Tasting like an aged left bank Bordeaux.

Wine Advocate 100 points.

This is a Fabulous wine to share with good friends. Very enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with BBQ ribs.

Last night we had close friends over and I stopped to buy a bottle for the gathering. I picked up a Jeraboam of the 2012 Château D'Aiguilhe Comtes Von Neipperg which is made up of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.

The aromas are of black cherry, blackberry, raspberry, black currant, chocolate, violet, mint, baking spice and earth.

On the palate the nose is confirmed with notes of black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, licorice, spices and wet gravel.

This wine went over very well with our guests though unable to finish the whole jeraboam. The wine is full bodied and very velvety with medium + acidity and medium + sandy tannins that lead into a chocolatey fruit filled finish. Wanted to see if my friends who say they prefer new or old world could tell the difference. They actually could.... they loved both. Even though they were the same vintage, Brand was more full bodied and youthful, but did have a hint of age on it. If I didn’t know the two wines we were blind tasting, I would have thought both were old world. — 7 years ago

I had this a week ago but didn’t take any notes at all at a friends tasting last Sunday afternoon. Have always been a huge fan of Dominus and this was from an exceptional vintage. I recall an excellent left bank Cabernet dominant style but presented as a Napa style - rich and plush but not overly so. Thoroughly enjoyable. — 2 years ago

Extreme value.
BF that knows wine: There are wines that you’d only date and there are wines you’d want a relationship with and this is a relationship wine.
Not too fussy, very consistent, medium bodied but with some spice. Financial goals are aligned. Not a trophy wife wine - but someone you’d be proud to introduce to your friends .

Me: 👀 idk what that’s description is about bc I’m in this relationship and those characteristics don’t describe me. But my thoughts: I’d buy again and it pairs well with White Lotus. I’m going to bring it to my “2023 intention setting dinner” with a group of girlfriends. Will update if it pairs well with intentions. — 4 years ago

At an old friends place in Scarborough on Moreton Bay having a wonderful seafood meal. The nose is textbook Art Series with ripe grapefruit, citrus and pear Toasty notes. The palate shows that rich oak is resolving with the powerful fruit - profound intensity which is a great match with the mornay seafood. Great persistence and length in this 3rd of 6. Hope I have the patience to have just one each year until 2024. — 5 years ago

Still doing great after 11 years. This could easily go another 2-3 years I think. Dark purple with faint hints of oxidation starting to show up. Plum, cherry, cola, tobacco, notes of coco, cassis, and blackberry on the palate. A hint of vegetal greenness on the nose, but otherwise plum and floral notes on the nose followed by tobacco and pepper. — 6 years ago

I like to thank @Severn Goodwin for his kindness & generosity for sending this beautiful bottle of Champagne.

We shared this with friends and paired this with apple walnut vinaigrette salad last night. Complimented the salad nicely. It was a nice yin and yang balanced tug of war of food & wine.

The body is beautiful in the mouth with nice acidity. Bruised apple & pear, some apple cider, pineapple juice, lime zest & candy, white peach, easy, soft chalkiness, soft, fine, grey volcanic minerals, sea spray, brioche with spring flowers and yellow lilies. Finishes softly, elegant, nicely balanced and persists nicely.

This 8 year old is drinking very nicely now and will age nicely in the next decade.

Needs 3 hours to open up properly and show some tannins.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Delicious.

Oh, what a treat to enjoy a 1999 #Margaux with some close friends. This was full of earthy forest floor, mushrooms, violets, soft spice and tannins that just melt away with such nicely balanced acidity. Here you see the amazing age potential of a #bordeaux. This is an outstanding wine. — 8 years ago
