Roughly 50% Petite Rouge with the balance being a field blend of Coralin, Fumin, Mayolet, Vien de Nus and Gamay. Medium garnet color. Aromas and flavors of red and black cherry, purple flowers, black raspberry, cranberry, almonds and pepper spice. Nice rustic and smoky earthiness on the long finish. Medium-minus body, light tannins and beautifully balanced. Needs some time to open up. Small production and unique. Excellent choice, Petey P! Love this producer! Revisited in September 2024. This is Fumin Junior, with much more acidity. Besides that, there are heavy dark fruit flavors. This is much more explosive with heavy pasta and very spicy meat sauce. Wonderful! — 6 years ago
