Dusty dirt roads, quiet small towns in the middle of the day. The feeling of finding the ordinary opulent, a long lunch with nothing planned later — 6 years ago
Nice, easy drinking, medium depth gage. — 6 months ago
Delicious! Worth the dirt roads!
Smooth with a tiny bit of effervescence. — 2 years ago
Started out closed, and smelling like a lumber yard. But with an hour or so of air, its Oregon roots start to show. Still shows significant but high quality toasty oak, together with sappy cherry fruit and earthy/sweet spices. In the mouth it’s balanced, with loamy, ripe fruit, crushed gravel, and a bit of black tea. Good concentration and length. The tannins are very soft. — 3 years ago
An excellent depth of flavor for such a light wine. Nose of dried roses, dried flowers, dusty roads. Light, ethereal flavors of grabby red fruits, underripe strawberries, red brick, light pepper. Strong structure to stand up to a dry aged ribeye. Excellent. — a year ago
Fruity. Australian. A&W liked. Shiraz. Succulent black fruits. While Berry. Floral, blueberry, spice & mocha. Nice finish. 14.5. — 3 years ago
Old vines Sancerre and Kamala! A winning combination! The wine’s nose has loads of intense, limestoney minerality, and zesty gooseberry fruit, ripe enough to give off a hint of tropicality. A bit of green gage (is that one word or two?). Perfect on a sultry August evening to accompany pecan-grilled haddock fillets. Here’s to November 3! — 6 years ago

Not the champagne I had in mind for tonight, but sometimes circumstances play their part.
This is pleasant enough. It will go well with my almond tart later.
The mouthfeel shows nice mousse, somewhat lively acidity, bruised golden/red/green apple to apple sauce, bruised pear, white citrus blend-grapefruit w/ pith leading, quince, touch of brown sugar, some yeastiness, baguette crust, graham cracker, volcanic minerals w/ clay, white spice, caramel notes, vanillin, sea spray, grippy, grainy chalk, sea fossils-oysters, limestone marl, withering lilies, spring flowers, nice acidity and a well balanced, good length, elegant finish that lasts nearly 90 second and lands on mid intensity minerals and spice.
Photos of; the champagne house of Veuve Clicqoit and the widow herself. You see her under the metal gage and plated over the cork.
