Picked up a split of this because all my .375 empties got accidentally thrown out (I use them to store unfinished bottles in the fridge). So I was mostly after the bottle itself but what’s inside happens to be superb—lime, apple and floral notes with fine but not hard edged limestone mineral character, softened perhaps by the clay component of the terroir. Never in my dreams would I think of really enjoying Ontario red wine, and secondly, enjoying an Ontario Pinot Noir. This was delicious. Perfect for a late summer evening dinner. Notes of red/dark cherries, raspberries, blueberries, followed by cloves, mild leather, and mild peppery tobacco, with refreshingly well balanced tannin. A complex, beautifully expressed Pinot, that surprisingly can hold up with a steak. Also a great $$ value. — 4 years ago
