Very nice fruit with perfectly integrated wood notes — 4 years ago
Jörg is every year better in making his unfiltriert Spatburgunder, the 2016 is for me a great effort. And considering I don’t like Pinot Noir you can imagine how good this wine must be🤣 silky and perfumes of cherries with delicate chocolate. Soft and smooth pallet, this is an fantastic wine of a very good Winzer — 7 years ago
Blauburgunder
Quite powerful & tannic, with dark brooding fruit, gripping, chocolatey tannins and a trace of blood & iron. Very warm vintage yet the juicy acidity balances everything out nicely. Would not take this for a PN blind - more a Baja from Dao or a modern Nebbiolo. This is a very, very good wine. — 8 years ago

blaufränkisch "spitzerberg" 2007
fantastic wine, right on spot! intellectual appearance, noble but actually thrilling.
pencil wood, red currant, mountain arnica, menthol, hyssop etc.
this is a smelling salt! — 10 years ago
@Delectable this is the Spätlese and this is just another great example of the craftsmanship of Jörg Thanisch. It’s a refined and precise wine, a wine that fills your mouth with great sweet fruits en you’re head with bucketloads of pleasure. The 7,5% of alcohol makes it quit easy to empty the bottle and run a marathon after it 🤣 this is every year again a no-brainer for my whole visiting Weingut Thanisch in Lieser💪 — 2 years ago
Fantastic dessert wine. Honey and honeydew melon but not too sweet with excellent t acidity. What a beauty. — 7 years ago
Schiller Berg rosé 2009, Carnuntum.
A mix of Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and PN, quite dark in colour with fresh wild strawberries and strawberry aromas. Slightly tannic, the way a pomegranate is. Great balance and brilliantly drinkable. Amazing for an almost 10y rosé! — 8 years ago
Redmann Zweigelt, Carnuntum.
Quite closed at the beginning, opens gradually to reveal ripe black cherries, cassis and kirsch, with a touch of dark nougat, coffee and leather. Very youthful, with fruity richness, polished yet grippy tannins and juicy acidity.
This has got to be the best Zweigelt I’ve come across. — 8 years ago
Fine example off the skills belonging to Jörg Thanisch, great flavours — 10 years ago
Alcohol vrije mousserende wijn, obv peer, erg smakelijk. — 3 years ago
DRY! Coiled and tense right now - wait 3 more years! Top Riesling top producer top vintage and Hans Jörg Rebholz’s best vineyard. The primary fruit when young is reduced. Smokey nose touch petrol. In the glass salty tangy peach stone mango verbena and faint hint of parsley. World class. — 8 years ago
Buschberg.
15y old Blanc de Noir from Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt & PN, just released on the market. Nose dominated by the wood, with burnt salty caramel, followed by red fruit & spices. Quite rich & tannic (you need a large glass! and time), this is a red wine in disguise! Highly interesting. — 8 years ago
Blaufränkisch Seeberg
Rick & quite powerful yet elegant & complex at the same time. Aronia & black cherries plus spices. Aged in large botte and barriques with the wood perfectly integrated. Juicy acidity, with great quality of fruit. Very youthful for 10y. An amazing wine. — 8 years ago
