Interesting blend from the Languedoc. 65% Chenancon, 20% Mouvedre, 15% Carignan. Well balanced and really wants you to pair this with food right away. — 3 years ago
A brilliant effort, the 2016 Château Faugeres shines all the way through. Deep ruby colored, the nose reveals whafts of tobacco, violets, red and black plum, blackcurrant, mint, leather and forrest floor. Full bodied with boatloads of ripe and polished tannins, the wine closes with a long, intense finish. This is a fantastic wine from Château Faugeres. Drink now until 2041. — 4 years ago

3.4. A tasty Faugeres from 2021. Strong fruits with a complex. array of minerals. on sale for $26.99, regularly $31.99. — 7 months ago
Really great value in a straightforward, honest, balanced Grenache. It’s grown within the Faugeres appellation but can’t claim the AOC apparently because it’s from deep sandy soils and not schist. No matter! Rayas grows Grenache in sand so there’s great precedent! Nose shows sappy kirsch-y fruit, lots of savory, mineral notes, and a touch of vanilla and spice. Soft and light-footed in the mouth. Quite dry, savory, and saline. Very soft tannin. Alcohol is relatively low at a stated 13.5. Drinking well now, it will certainly last a year or two longer, though I don’t think it will improve. I love wines like this. So food flexible. — 3 years ago
Fruit meets earthiness in a relatively round way — 4 years ago
Tis the season for soul warming Languedoc reds. This was the basic faugeres, carignane/Grenache/cinsault blend. Soft and mellow, black cherry fruit has maybe dried out a little, slightly brown even, but still there, plus olives, herbs, some subtle brett. Is it more fun than a Barral of monkeys? Not quite but a nice drink — 6 years ago
This is not the Carignan blend, but I can’t seem to edit the descriptor. This is the 2012 La Joupatiere and it is one of the most unique and interesting wines. Thank you Colline de l’hirondelle. As their website explains, “The oldest vineyard in the village! Planted at the end of the 19th century, it miraculously escaped phylloxera and the uprooting of old vines that has plagued the Languedoc; this tiny one-acre plot is a conservatory of rare and disappearing varieties. A local vine scientist has identified the following 13 varieties: Carignan noir, Grenache noir, Cinsault noir, Mourrastel Boucher noir, Rivairenc noir, Grand Noir de la Calmette, Mourvèdre noir, Terret noir, Terret gris, Terret blanc, Olivette blanche, Chasselas doré, Valencin rose and two mysterious varieties are still unidentified.” What a blend. — 7 years ago
Yum...smooth, fresh and very drinkable. Affordable- around 4-5 Euros in Casino. — 8 years ago
Red to dark red fruits, cherry, raspberry and pomegranate, garrigue, and singed black schiste stone/mineral notes, lavender florals too. The palate is medium bodied, with intense flavors that are lightning it's feet. I am a fan of Faugeres wines and it's rare for me to try a new one like this one. — 2 years ago
Amazing tang and texture with late night cheeseboard — 3 years ago
A blend of native Greek varietals from Crete. Quite dry finish & succulent enough dark red & black fruits in a medium body. Has a peppery snap to finish that reminds me of some blends from Faugeres/ South of France. I like that on the back label there is recognition it’s women-made. — 4 years ago
