Classic Pinot Noir with ripe cherry, red fruits and acidity. Perfect with Thai food. — 3 years ago
Lotus of Siam Edition — 5 years ago
French bubbling onion broth, with fungal asymmetry the partnering haberdasher’s cheese motif, and pictographs and hieroglyphic bubble letters the font-lacing. Caramel-orange and yeast with hibiscus and dried lotus slices. There is a peppermint coolness to the backnote and a clean, bok choy sweetness. Tastes of caramel and verdelho-Madeira, and lemon, orange and grapefruit interplay mutating into a cilantro and Vidalia, that ultimately return to the yeast, with marigold petals swimming in a malt and hop extravaganza. #mikkeller #nelsonsauvin #dryhopped #deproefbrouwerij #beer #bier #birra #biere #cerveza — 6 years ago
71% Viognier, 29% Marsanne
The Viognier floats very nicely on top of the Marsanne. Viognier's White floral and golden fruit, on top of round and slight nutty characteristics of the Marsanne. Nicely balanced. Both varietals are at home in San Pasqual Valley. Recommend visiting, when in the San Diego area. — 9 years ago
Applesauce gold opacity, with marshmallow over-puff hovering like egg white. Kidney pie lacing turns lattice cobbler. Sweet warm nose of lemon pie, white grapefruit and nano-mint, lotus root, ramen, lime, and pink grapefruit. Palate is lemon perfection, round pith, creamy lime, crystalline grapefruit, white pepper textural impression, candied lemon peel, and a cubist apricot. Amazing, rich, variegated, layered complexities, ever changing, alpha!

White Lotus wine. And delivers! Deeper yellow color than expected - beautiful out of the bottle. Floral on the nose with hints of hay. Great acid and weight. Certainly reisling esque. No wonder the Sicilians drink this all summer. — 3 years ago
Usunigori means “lightly cloudy”
This ginjō is unpasteurized, unfiltered, & undiluted
Day 1 Replaced cap with Vinloq stopper and served with preservation
👃 Zero candybar! White chocolate, peanuts, and almonds were present on the sweet, candied nose
👅 Sweet & creamy on the rice driven palate. Very pleasant
Love to pair cloudy sake and sushi. In this case, the sweet and umami flavors from the sake lees played well with cooked fish, raw fish, sushi rolls, and even tempura
Remaining 150mls refrigerated x 7 days under Vinloq gas
Day 8
Dinner included unagi, tamago, lotus root and bean curd skin in dashi broth, grilled cabbage, and turnip soup. Again, this Hanatomoe played well with everything. Did not lose a step over 7 days in the fridge
Not the last word in precision, but this is very delicious with a wide array of foods and was equally comfortable as a sipper after dinner — 4 years ago
Nice 👍🏼
K&L notes as follows
am very surprised with this gin - the addition of quinine (not to mention the wormwood!) makes it a perfect gin for those, like me, that loves gin and tonic. You don't even have to add the tonic! Just some ice cubes and it will take you straight to paradise...
Orbium is Hendrick's reimagined. It's the same classic Hendrick's, but with the addition of quinine, wormwood, and blue lotus blossom. The results are a completely different gin that shows off many of the traditional gin cocktails in one beautiful pour. — 6 years ago
Peaches in syrup, bruised apricot, nectarine, orange blossoms, tangerine zest. A little lotus oil and faint notes of sunflower seed and snapdragons. On the palate fruit is ripe but poised, not stewed or flabby. It’s delicate and fresh. Texture has a gentle graininess. — 7 years ago
This review is not about the wine. This review is solely about tok which is possibly the best restaurant Kris has found independent of Danny. She doesn’t recall the origin; what she searched and when? Unsure. Though as the destination in Hoi An to celebrate 48 with Danny and his parents: exceptional. To be fair, this whole trip has been remarkable in only good ways. The White Lotus arrival at The Nam Hai. The upgrade to the three bedroom villa (compound). Nayuu and the origami welcome back … but we digress. tok and its chicharron and veggie chips. The ceviche and clams and prawns… plus cauliflower, flank steak, and last minute addition of mushroom ravioli. Everything was exceptional. More than 5 stars… 10 stars. All the stars! A requirement each trip back (we will return for 49!). — a year ago
Extreme value.
BF that knows wine: There are wines that you’d only date and there are wines you’d want a relationship with and this is a relationship wine.
Not too fussy, very consistent, medium bodied but with some spice. Financial goals are aligned. Not a trophy wife wine - but someone you’d be proud to introduce to your friends .
Me: 👀 idk what that’s description is about bc I’m in this relationship and those characteristics don’t describe me. But my thoughts: I’d buy again and it pairs well with White Lotus. I’m going to bring it to my “2023 intention setting dinner” with a group of girlfriends. Will update if it pairs well with intentions. — 4 years ago
A special bottling made with a very exclusive rice called Aiyama, this rice used to exclusively supplied to Kenbishi, the oldest sake brewery in Japan, after the Kobe earthquake, the monopoly was broken; this Daijingo uses rice milled to 34% of its original volume, pale yellow color with smells of honeydew melon, steamed sticky rice, white corn husk, Asian pear and lemongrass, full body with mellow mouthfeel and balanced acidity, tastes of melon, lotus seed, dried coconut shaving with white pepper finish. — 5 years ago
Red gold body with a Matisse sketched white ring and merengue peaked, sheet-lacing. Clean citrus nose exhibiting clementine and dried pineapple, Meyer lemon and a faint funky-persimmon and lotus. There is something pleasant about the naturalness of the aromatics here with dried lemon verbena and Calloway seed. Orange and tangerine eclipse the lemon on the palate and add sweet grapefruit, and a clove note that tightly binds the whole. The bitterness being mitigated by the maple was brilliant here! Makes the Dogfish 90 seem clunky in comparison. I am a fan of this manifestation. Careful crafting and a simple solution to tune aggressive hops. There is no maple flavor btw. .

A very nice off dry riesling that we had for dinner at Lotus of Siam. — 8 years ago
2010 DANA ONDA, wow, maybe not the strongest middle pallet but the rest of it blows me away. The richest dark fruit nose and entry, not sweet just killer fruit, and the finish is so well blended. I would put this up against any 2010 cab and I’m a big fan of the vintage. I have one left and while I think it will last for a while I’ll drink it again in 5 years as I have the 2010 Lotus in waiting! — 8 years ago

My favorite and even at this young age it is a wow! The iron fist velvet glove thing that makes you sit back and wish all Napa cab were made like this. The fruit is still primary and no real tertiary notes but wow the balance and elegant mouthfeel. Complexity, finish, balance it’s all there. The real issue is the cost is prohibitively stupid. Out of my price range but fortunate to try these. Give it 5 yrs and this would be near perfect to my palate. — 2 months ago
