On the same lunar cycle as @Tom Garland and @Brenda Terzich-Garland tonight. Tannins still in the lead, but this was In great shape. Drink sooner rather than later. — 4 years ago

Classic chambolle. Elegance is the word! Complex and clean nose with red currant, cherry, roses and primordial earthiness. On the palate, seductive elegance with a silky texture and feather like mouthfeel and outstanding linearity. It slowly peels away the complexity with layers of red fruits, roses and the classic limestone undertones. Borniques is biodynamically farmed with winemaking synched with lunar cycles on a small parcel of 1.4 ha situated right above the famous ‘Les Amoureuses’ with vines planted almost on the rock. It explains the very linear structure. The tannins, acidity and alcohol were in brilliant harmony with a finish where the dance continues for well over 2 mins. I loved this and it reminded me why Chambolle-Musigny is one of my absolute favorite villages in Burgundy. — 6 years ago
Our Lunar New Year celebrations kicked off with this absolute beauty hailing from one of my favourite vineyards anywhere. Kabi-like sweetness with GG-level extract! An auslese feinherb perhaps?
So fragrant. Floral, herbal, and mineral (ranging from flint to sea spray), with a melange of fruits like pineapples, candied lemons, fresh limes and even grapefruits (especially on day 3). Very pure, juicy, and salty on the palate, with an uber-long and energetic finish. I felt that this was a less structured and fruiter version of the 13’ we had not long ago, but the overall profile and my love for it was similar. — 2 years ago

This Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is deliciously concentrated with its cherry, strawberry, raspberry notes also cola, violet, crushed stone and earth.

first bottle of birthday / lunar new year haul... amazing nose, so clean, cutting. followed by medium tannin, melon, pomelo peel. very un—annoying orange wine... a taste of desperately awaited spring — 5 years ago
Nicely done. I like the Amphora texture and acidity. Queveri-ish. Good food wine. For on its own enjoyment, would love to see lightly topped with late harvest Roussanne. Lemon+Honey 🐝
I also want to bury the Amphora ceremoniously, with you (Bradley) and Randall Grahm.... on an eclipse/lunar biodynamic magical night, you already got the patio with a firepit to fulfill the bonfire... cow horns and crystals for everyone :) haha — 6 years ago
Lunar New Year Champagne 🧧
Gong Hay Phat Choi! — 3 years ago
1st Jan 2023. Disgorged Jan 2020. Champagne of the night. Beautiful wine. Complex, full bodied.
100% Pinot Meunier from the 2014 harvest. Aged for 10 months in oak barrel plus another 5 years on lees without malolactic conversion, batonnage, cold stabilisation, filtration or fining and with very little added sulphur. The champagne’s elevage process strictly follows the lunar calendar. Zero dosage. Only 234 bottles and limited magnums produced.
[Tasting notes for the 2013 vintage:] “An expansive and highly energised nose: buttered toast, roasted almond, marzipan, mandarin orange and lemon rind. There is an extra layer of depth and precision here, thanks to the long lees ageing as well as the vintage factor. Electric energy and really palate-saturating. Penetrating and complex with an impressive drive and focus. Mouthfilling towards the finish but the wine is always held together by a tremendous tension. Again, an uncommon elegance and harmony for something so electrifying, as well a rare mouthfeel of silky plushness. Absolutely memorable.” AC — 3 years ago
2019: Blackest stout with a grainy, dark chestnut head that quickly reduces to
Polished black marble with a lunar nebula central. Single arches lacing. Molasses and licorice nose, dark chocolate, rich Turkish coffee, tobacco, caramel, coconut oak smolders through the last sniff. Really well integrated first sip. Powerful and sensually abundant, black licorice extract, chicory coffee, vanilla extract, pecans, dark brown sugar, toffee, mocha for the mileage.

Dealing with one of the masters of Meunier here and it is positively gorgeous. Medium gold color with tiny bubbles and wonderful creaminess. The nose is harmonious, as is the entire package, showcasing chamomile, white flowers, and tea. Citrus rind and brioche explode from the glass, with spice and a rather decadent streak of honey running throughout.
Already set apart from other Growers, Mignon’s winemaking is about as natural as you can get and dictated by the lunar cycle. 100% Pinot Meunier, this is a blend of the 2014 and 15 vintages, it was disgorged in August of 19. Low dosage at between 2 and 5 g/l and you definitely feel it. Strikingly and gloriously bitter, this is just a joy to drink.
Dry with very crisp acidity, this has amazing texture and structure. The palate shows orchard fruits, plums, and rose petals up front with more drizzled honey and pears. Apricots and toasty biscuits abound. The finish is long and pure. This could certainly benefit from a few more years on the shelf but it’s fun right now. Pure elegance. — 5 years ago

Privatbrauerei Eichbaum Brauer Theobald lager.
Green-gold with stark, white, lunar surface head. Op art islands drift like clouds as lacing. Breaded nose with drops of honey and bee pollen dance with lemon zest and grapefruit. The palate surprises with a dry grain entry. Cardamom sensation with Brazil nut and dark oat. Strong offering of beer squared.
