Saint-Romain 'Combe Bazin' Chardonnay 2021

Delicious. Nose has that mineral “stank” that I associate with Auxey in spades and love. Deep fruit, sidling up from the apple side of the spectrum to the peach side, along with nice wet straw notes. Hint of melted butter. On the palate it’s concentrated but nicely balanced. Nice length and intensity. Best vintage of this wine I’ve had yet. — 16 hours ago

Vintage 2011 | In praise of the cooperatives ☺️ This wine from Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec and Abouriou was really hard when young. And now after 12 years it reveals its qualities: cherries and spices in smell, smooth velvety taste, very vibrant and still with tannins present. It gives joy. Paired with spaghetti garlic, anchovies and parsley. — 2 years ago
