Had a glass of this at Vino Volo in the Pittsburgh airport and I have to say, it did get me wondering why I don’t drink Cava more often! Quite creamy and fruity. Paired nicely with their popular salmon crostini things. — 7 years ago

Shared in Pittsburgh very smooth slightly sweet/fruity. Great summer wine. — 10 years ago

Not even surprised. Rick went to his cellar and slapped his you know what on the table. This is a beautiful example of Bdx.
Cow dung nose gives way to a sweet, textured palate. Tannins are close to be resolved, but zero tertiary notes. Great acid structure completes an excellent presentation from a lack luster vintage - boys w/end in Pittsburgh. — 5 years ago
Tasted at the Pittsburgh wine festival. I’ll try to rate more of the wines I tasted but for now, here’s my fave Barolo of the night. 🌹 #pghwinefestival — 8 years ago

Metodo Classico Nebbiolo is always a fantastic idea. Subtle, elegant, mineral, underripe wild strawberries, raspberries & cranberries with a hint of caramelized brioche and grapefruit pith on the finish. Uncovered this unexpected treasure in search of a good bottle at my sister’s house in Pittsburgh. Figured we all deserved something bubbly to celebrate 1 week (my case) and 1 month (mom and dad’s) of keeping baby girl alive, fed, soothed, changed and the house from falling apart. — 4 years ago

Creamy, cherry, medium+ body, very very drinkable I.e. noted to self this is a good ‘sessions’ wine. This was wine I bought on my 1st trip to Pittsburgh re living there — 8 years ago

Cos is a wine I have only tried a few times. A collector darling, most who collect it are fanatic only about Cos. Kind of like how Pittsburgh sports fans if you are familiar.
These were both exceptional. The 2000 showed some tertiary aspects in the nose, less so in the palate as a strong, tannic structure bolstered my thoughts of much further longevity than the nose hinted to. Flush with the firm and chewy tannin Saint-Estephe wines sport for more time than their southerly Medoc counterparts. Plenty of layered, savory and pristine black and red fruits fan out over the structure.
The 2005 is even more complex and dense and I would have to think will age at a glacial pace as this was just getting going from what I could tell as it was showing so young and tight.

Whoa, what a sublime presentation. Nose displays tobacco leaves, ripe cherries and a dusting of cedar.
Palate is regal - the definition of smooth. Raspberries everywhere. Immature tannins suggest that this should be left for a while. Nice weight and texture leads into a smooth maple syrup finish. Spice box also coming thru after exposure to air. Thank you, Rick.
