Bought this at the winery 2 years ago in Amador County, where it had been a surprise for us. We’d gone out there excited to try Zin and Rhone varietals, and so were surprised that we liked this Cab blend so much. Intense and open and with a bit of complexity and elegance. So good.

Saison DuPont is one of my favorite beers ever, amazingly my first time having this one. Insanely good, fuller body, more lemon oil than cream, pepper, clove, lemongrass, bread. I can’t believe they don’t add spices to this. So freaking complex. Finish lasts well over 30 seconds with lemon, poppy seeds, hay, jasmine tea. Wish I could find more of this. — 3 years ago

Another Grand Cru from my favorite Alsacian producer.
Poura yellow, I get canary melon, botrytis honey comb, passion fruit, lychee.
Just slightly off dry, the acids have a mustard like quality. (the area is surrounded by mustard fields and I swear that I can smell and/or taste mustard greens/flowers in many wines of Berckem). Follows up with roasted apple flavors, and an incredible clean but long finish.
I wish I could open a bottle of this every night. — 3 years ago
