Beautiful blend of the best of Languedoc whites. 42% Roussanne, 40% Grenache Blanc, 15% Clairette & 5% Viognier. Estate bottled from grapes apparently grown on the 32 hectares of historic vineyards where multiple Roman legions were stationed to protect the vineyards of this region… for god reason. An Eric Solomon selection so it has been selected by someone with the ability to source great wines! Wonderful floral components with light minerality and mildly acid combined with a slight taste of residual sweetness from the fruit forward grapes typical@of the region to give this refreshing wine a perfect balance! — 2 years ago
Bordeaux trip. Château Grand Barrail. $50.00. Classic Right Bank Bordeaux. Smooth Merlot start, with nice tannin finish. — 6 years ago
Bought at Nicolas rue de Saint Dominique. The most close I am looking for a full-time bodied wine, but not very complex — 7 years ago
Picked up this 6 Euro bottle a few weeks back & paired with Italian tonight. Still trying to learn what it is I’m smelling and tasting... — 8 years ago
Fantastic Chablis Grand Cru after a wonderful day in Stockholm! This was my first Chablis Grand Cru and I think my first Grand Cru Burgundy in general. Perfect amount of new oak for this style of Chablis IMO. Very subtle, pleasantly understated and well integrated. Starfruit, lemon curd, honeydew melon, a big hefty dose of briny salinity and crushed chalk that you'd expect from great Chablis, Parmigiano cheese rind, and just a bit of baking spices and heavy cream + the tiniest bit of crème brûlée from malo and new oak. Just enough breadth and richness without losing it's precise focus and great freshness. Moderate (+) acidity, nice moderate body. Really wonderful stuff and a killer way to settle back in on the boat after such an active day. — 10 years ago

Prieure Saint-Hippolyte - Languedoc - Blanc
50% Grenache Blanc, 25% Viognier, 25% Vermentino
Nice fresh fruit, dry, Peach, pear, floral, wax, stones.
Not the biggest, baddest, longest aging wine ever, but... a very well made Languedoc Blanc to be enjoyed now, under $15.
Guessing 11-12.5% ABV (label range 11-14), went nicely with an omelette dinner.

This is a 100 % organic Syrah grown on decomposed granite hillsides in Saint Joseph, displaying violet, ripe black fruits with hint of dried blueberry, black pepper and vanilla. Slightly musky, dusty, med plus body with great acidity and med plus tannin. A wonderful Saint Joseph has depth, structure, and fruitiness. — 7 years ago
Finished the big mountains with an epic stage for 19 of #tourdefrance starting down in the Languedoc and climbing. This was really nice white wine. Again, a lot of body, but this more balanced than yesterday. Good long finish with honey, white peach, raisin. Nice wine. — 8 years ago
