Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe dark fruits, sweet herb spice and espresso notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and black cherry with toasty oak, cacao and espresso. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with fruit, oak and sweet pepper spice. Still has room to age, but nice now! — 3 years ago
Deep Ruby with black fruit aromas, earthy herb scents and soft spice. On the palate sweet fruits, cherry and currants, with licorice, tobacco and cacao notes on fine tannins, nice balance. Medium+ finish ending with fruit and earthy oak, very nice and has some room for cellaring. — 3 years ago
Incredible #chateauneufdupape which was kept casually at room temperature for many years before I was fortunate enough to receive it as a gift. Popped the cork, and within about 30 minutes it really flowered. The overall aromatic impression is a balance of spiced cured meat set against plum and red fruit compote; layers of garrigue, underbrush, mushroom below that. Luscious mouthfeel with plenty of lively acidity, stewed fruit, some olive notes but the tannins have completely integrated and softened to just a hint of what they once must have been. This is a beautiful CDP that has aged gracefully over 17 years. — 5 years ago
Blend of mostly Tempranillo with about equal amounts of Garnacho, Graciano and Manzuelo, deep Ruby with a graceful bouquet of berry fruits, cigar box spice with fresh earthy tones, a traditional Rioja, still reticent. On the silky smooth palate, elegant with layers of flavors of ripe blackberry and cherry, tobacco, smoky cedar, dark fruit, vanilla spice, very well balanced with fine soft tannins and a clean structure ending with a nice long chalky earthy character. Delicious! Still has room to age. — 2 years ago
Popped and poured, consumed over several hours. Initially served chilled and then allowed to come up to room temperature. It should be noted that this was lovely from the first pour but improved with air and as it warmed. The 2009 Domaine du Collier Saumer Blanc pours a bright golden color, with no signs of sediment or gas. High viscosity. On the nose, this is extremely floral…like being in a grove of magnolia trees in full bloom. The flowers are accompanied by bright citrus fruit, lanolin, alfalfa and honey. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. The notes from the bouquet are confirmed and accompanied by the most lovely, almost oily texture. This is oh so woolly! The finish goes long. This is my first experience with Antoine’s wine and I’m now absolutely smitten (thanks Tim). A simply gorgeous example of Chenin from a warm vintage and an alternative to Joly if you crave a natural touch…but not too natural. This is a banger now and will continue to be so for some time. Wow.

Located halfway up the hill dominating principal valley of Barolo, lined by vineyards, lies a precious 15th century Abbey of Annunziata. Medium Ruby with complex aromas of berry fruits, oak and fresh floral scents. On the palate dried cherry, tobacco, licorice, espresso and fresh herbs give this full-body wine grace and elegance. Soft fine dusty tannins, with earthy notes, on a well balanced frame makes this hot vintage wine approachable today as well as have room to run over the next decade. Very Nice! — 4 years ago
Fantastic wine. This is just how I remember the last Kronos I had - lovely black and blue fruit, fully structured but so elegant. Very feminine wine. Absolutely enjoyable with a tremendous ribeye at The Ocean Room at Kiawah. I need to buy more of this wine. — 3 years ago
So surprisingly smoky and sweet, but not in the way you’d expect when someone says it. This wine is delicate, light bodied, summery, but with fresh plum in your hand and a little smoke on the air. It’s got some green garden going on. It’s a surprise of something you love satisfying you on a hot day. — 3 years ago
Served at room temp, which was off-putting from the start. Very typical Bdx profile with understated oak and fruits on the nose. Mid-palate offers softish tannins and moderate acidity. Finishes with length. Drink em if you have em. Represents good value from this region. — 4 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Blend of mostly Merlot with a little Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with aromas of ripe dark fruits, sweet spice and espresso notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and black cherry with toasty oak, cacao and espresso. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with fruit, oak and sweet pepper spice. Still has room to age, but nice now! — 2 years ago
