Palatable wine for the price. Paired well with sausage ragout served to friends. — 7 months ago

Domaine Barmes-Buecher

Clos Sand Alsace Riesling 2019

Vintage 2019 | very typical Riesling with so much acidity I raised my eyebrows, but it came all together with a codfish on a risotto of potatoes | at La Taverne Alsacienne in Ingersheim — 4 years ago

Porongurup Riesling 2016

Tasted blind, presented by Sue Bell. I picked Riesling, Australian and missed Porongurups WA. A brilliant Riesling made by Rob Diletti at Castle Rock WA. Lovely aromatics of Musk and Bath Talc. At 5 years the acid had settled and the citrus was going towards stone fruit. Really enjoyed this. — 5 years ago

Full bodied wine with cherry & cassis. Spicy finish! Delish! — 4 years ago

Viano Vineyards

Reserve Selection Sand Rock Hill Zinfandel 2018

Deep red brick color. Smells just a hint like some fruity vinegar. Flavors are complex and zippy. Juicy. A tad more going on than the Viano private stock Zin. Classic Contra Costa County old vine Zin. — 4 years ago

Porongurup Shiraz 2017

Consistent notes from a year ago when we visited the winery in Porongurup WA and spent a wonderful hour with Owner and winemaker Rob Diletti. I love these cool climate peppery Shirazes. Should leave having the next one for a couple of years. — 6 years ago

Château Coutet

La Chartreuse de Coutet Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2011

Quite consistent with my notes from ~6 months ago:

Nose has over-ripe apricot, almond oil, marzipan, meringue cookie and cold butter.
Palate has warmed apricot pie with extra flakey, buttery crust, sweet sand, white flower honey and mango.

Admittedly I love Sauternes and have many bottles, yet it's a rarity on opening and posting to the Community. We paired this bottle with a hard, smoked goat cheese from a local, Hudson valley producer, a solid match of sweet and salty.

This stuff is dangerous. Smooth, light on the tongue, but not simple. A light gold color, some kind of melon note and vanilla flavors. Great at this price; points for cost/benefit ratio. At Cory's in the freezing cold. — 5 years ago
